PTSD and Guns: An Iffy Combination

Fort Hood notwithstanding, a provision in a Senate bill is still pending
that would allow veterans deemed "mentally defective" to buy guns. Sen.
Richard Burr (R-N.C.) says his "Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act"
will protect veterans' rights; the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun
Violence says it will put guns in the hands of over 100,000 "mentally
incapacitated" guys (sic) who have often already been through way too much.
