and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) has released a report,
"Women Warriors: Supporting She 'Who Has Borne the
Battle,'" on the horrific and largely overlooked problems facing women
veterans, who make up over 11% of those serving in America's wars.
Among the findings:
last year's 3,000 reports of sexual assault, widely viewed as a
fraction of the true number; divorce rates triple that of male
soldiers; inadequate health care; and rising homelessness. The report
is the cornerstone of the IAVA's first annual Week of the Woman
