Even if industrialized countries enact every ambitious climate
change policy they have proposed, researchers now predict the planet
will warm by 6.3 degrees - nearly double
what scientists say is the upper limit of warming the world
can support without catastrophic climate change -
by the end of the century. And if they don't, the increase will top 8 degrees. The findings by the Climate Action
Initiative, based on climate figures from the policies of 200
countries, far outstrip UN climate predictions made just two years ago.
