Knowledge or Profit?
Citing its desire to "expand the frontiers of human knowledge" - and
maybe make some money - Google has spent several years scanning 10

including many out-of-print works. But the project has been challenged
as inappropriate and/or illegal by Amazon, Microsoft, and many authors
and publishers, launching a legal fight and raising complex issues
about who "owns" literature.
