Fighting a veto effort to derail Maine's gay marriage law scheduled
to go into effect Sept.11, Equality Maine and other groups have
released their first TV ad in support of the right to marry. It's a tad
gooey around the edges - do we really need, again, all those lobsters
and lighthouses? - but its tone is respectful and positive, which is a start. And
its key point - Mainers are tolerant, sensible and think for themselves
- is spot-on. See it here.
