Inspired to meld his need to sell trucks with his fear of crime, meth freaks, and President Obama, a Missouri car dealer is offering
a gift certificate for an AK-47 assault rifle to anyone who buys a
pick-up. Mark Muller, president of Max Motors, dismisses the notion "we
are all cross-eyed rednecks down here," and says business has been
brisk.

"This is about the right of defending me and my family," said Muller, a 49-year-old father of three. "I have a loaded gun in my
pocket now and one in the glove locker of the car with a 12-round clip
in it. My wife also carries a weapon."

FRIENDS: Help Us Fight

Independent journalism has become the last firewall against government and corporate lies. Yet, with frightening regularity, independent media sources are losing funding, closing down or being blacked out by Google and Facebook. Never before has independent media been more endangered. If you believe in Common Dreams, if you believe in people-powered independent media, please support us now and help us fight—with truths—against the lies that would smother our democracy. Please help keep Common Dreams alive and growing. Thank you. -- Craig Brown, Co-founder
