Telling the Palestinian Story

From Mondoweiss and Muslim progressive Sammer Aboelela, a blueprint to
awakening an American public largely indifferent to the Palestiian
struggle. Among the strategies: "detribalize" the narrative to make
people understand the issue as a struggle for civil rights; humanize
the daily plight of Palestinian fishermen, farmers and workers; make
real the "gentle defiance" that is Gazan resistance; tell their stories
in terms that relate to people's lives.

"For many, human and moral struggles are
infinitely more compelling than political policy and punditry. As long
as the Palestinian struggle is obscured by political language or racist
hatespeech, large swaths of the American population will remain
disinterested."
