Taking Health Care A Step Further in Montana

by

Bucking Republicans and his own party officials, the head of Montana's Democrats has come out in support of universal health coverage. Dennis McDonald, who is running for Congress in 2010, argues "there is overwhelming public support for a single payer plan in
America" – even though the support does not include Montana's influential Sen. Max Baucus or a number of other Democrats pushing a plan that would compete with but not replace private coverage.

"The rumors that we cannot afford a single payer plan are false. Rather, what we cannot afford is further delay."
