Don't Buy Into Apartheid
Following the lead of Europe's Boycott, Divest, Sanction movement, U.S. activists in California and elsewhere have begun a campaign to pressure Trader Joe's stores to discontinue buying from Israel until it follows international law. Protesters removed couscous, cheese and other Israeli goods from shelves and met with store managers. Insure Us Against the "Insurers," Please
A day after experts testified at a hearing that health insurers regularly "dump the sick" to satisfy "Wall Street's relentless profit expectations," a Senate report confirmed the charge, finding that insurers have forced consumers to pay billions in medical bills they should have paid, often by fudging the numbers. Last year, New York AG Andrew Cuomo found the practice allowed insurers to "defraud" consumers by up to 28 percent.

These Guys Are Not Just Insane, But Very Scary
In another alarming sign of right-wing extremism run amok, white supremacist radio show host Hal Turner was arrested today by the FBI for threatening online to kill three judges in Chicago for their recent ruling upholding handgun bans. Turner's postings proclaimed his "outrage" over the decisions and listed the judges' photos, addresses and maps of their workplace. “Let me be the first to say this plainly: These Judges deserve to be killed."
