CNN's Memory Hole: Iranian History Begins in 1979


"Since [the] Islamic Revolution of 1979," begins CNN's interactive timeline, "Iran's government has been at odds with the West."

The cable news channel - obsessed as they are with events on the
ground in Tehran these days - seems content to forget the CIA-led coup
in 1953 that deposed the democratically elected Iranian government of
Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh.

Perhaps they should tweet less, and read history more.
