These Peeple Are Insane

For a refreshing break from the real world, consider the latest racist, oblivious antics of the GOP. Under a misspelled banner for a conference to bring back a GOP majority, right-wingers talked up English-only initiatives and suggested the Obama administration will force Americans to speak Spanish (not a bad idea as long as we spell words correctly); despite a vow by Senate conservatives to give a "fair and respectful" hearing to Sonia Sotomayor, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) blew off a meeting with her because she was 10 minutes late, no doubt due to the cast on her broken ankle, a week after Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK)
did the same because he said he'd made up his mind against her in 1998, 11 years before the fact; and State Rep. Cynthia Davis (R-MO) argued against a summer food program for low-income kids by saying hunger is good for us.

"Bigger governmental programs take away our connectedness to the human family, our brotherhood and our need for one another...Hunger can be a positive motivator."
