With hate crimes against Latinos up 40 percent over four years, a
new report by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund
shows a close correlation between those crimes and the increasingly vitriolic tone of anti-immigrant forces. The report, "Confronting the New Faces of Hate," calls out several groups for their racist language.
“In one of the most disturbing developments of recent years, some
groups opposing immigration reform...have inflamed the immigration debate by invoking the dehumanizing, racist stereotypes and bigotry of hate groups."
