Hyperbole of the Day

The airwaves have been ablaze with over-the-top rhetoric – see Sotomayor – but the reaction of Israeli Science Minister Daniel Herschkowitz to the entirely plausible Obama demand for a freeze on West Bank settlements wins the prize. We especially like his analogy of splitting up kids in a family, though wasn't it Solomon, not the Pharoah, who suggested cutting the baby in half?

"The American demand to prevent natural growth
is unreasonable, and brings to mind Pharaoh who said: 'Every son that is
born ye shall cast into the river.'"
