Joining the chorus of bizarro charges against Judge Sonia Sotomayor streaming in from the right is former GOP House member Tom Tancredo, who says she "appears to be racist." This, from the guy who declared Latino-rich Miami "a third world country" and accused immigrants of "pushing drugs, raping kids and destroying lives."

For a change of pace, she is a "reverse racist" to Rush Limbaugh, who once noted "the streets were safer after dark" under slavery and asked, ""You ever notice how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"

Finally, we have Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)
echoing a multitude of GOP nay-sayers wondering how a Hispanic woman could possibly render an impartial judgment: "In the months ahead, it will be
important...to weigh her
qualifications and character as well as her ability to rule fairly
without undue influence from her own personal race, gender, or
political preferences."

No word on the ability of the seven white men on the court to do likewise.
