Having already proposed a mandatory loyalty pledge for anyone voting or holding office in Israel, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's right-wing party now wants to ban Israeli Arabs from marking the anniversary of "the Catastrophe" or Nakba, when 700,000 Arabs lost their homes in the 1948 Israeli war of independence.   

"The draft law is intended to strengthen unity in the state of
Israel," said
party spokesman Tal Nahum.
