Forget knots and deer tracks. The Explorers program, an affiliate of the Boy Scouts, is training kids as young as 14 to confront suicide-bombers, hostage-takers, border-jumpers and other undesirables in paramilitary operations complete with "poison gas" and fake and real guns. The program is popular, even though many of the police officers supervising the program – based, where else, in Texas – have been charged with sexually abusing Explorers.
