Frankly, We Were Never That Fond of the Mice

With President Obama proposing a public health insurance plan to compete with the often-rapacious private ones, health insurance lobbyists and their Republican cohorts are protesting they wouldn't stand a chance – an option that might sit well with Americans now paying obscene premiums for inadequate care.

 “It’s a big problem,” said Lamar
Alexander. “It’s like putting an elephant in the room with
some mice and saying, ‘Okay fellas, compete.’ There wouldn’t be any
mice left after a while.”
