Health Care For All, Still

With the fate of President Obama's proposed $634 billion set aside for healthcare reform still unresolved, the pharmaceutical industry is busy leveraging a place in the budget debate. PhRMA president Billy Tauzin says greater access to health care is all well and good, but oversight of the effectiveness of treatments and other reforms must not interfere with "the wonderful, uniquely American experience in which doctors and patients make their decisions about health care" – a wonderful experience that millions of uninsured currently don't share.
