Buying Spin, or Why We Feel Much Better Now About Giving Them All That Money

Seems American International Group, having gotten more than $150 billion in bailout money from taxpayers, is paying four – count 'em 4! – p.r. firms to make sure we don't start getting irked, and maybe decide not to give them any more. Company officials are apparently staying mum on the details of just what they plan to do with all our money, but with all that spin at work it seems likely that when they finally – oops! – lose it, they'll deliver the news in an artful fashion.
