The Cost of War, Made Plain

In a reversal of a policy that for too long hid the true cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Pentagon will lift its ban on media coverage of the coffins of America’s war dead returning to the U.S., with final say on the issue left to soldiers' families. This is good, if hard news. Too many of us are too adept at shutting down, at not seeing. We all need to see these pictures.
