KSFR, Santa Fe Public Radio, reports:

A young Palestinian woman who took part in a summer "peace" program in Santa Fe five years ago has died in the shelling in Gaza.

The head of Creativity for Peace says Besson Abuelaish died in her home in Gaza along with two siblings. Another sister has been hospitalized.

The group says the father is a prominent physician who works in both Gaza and Israel.

The Creativity for Peace program brings adolescents from Palestine and
Israel to Santa Fe each summer for a two-week program to promote peace.
