Brutal Same As It Ever Was: Israel's War On Justice
So Trump met with Netanyahu - newly indicted for bribery and fraud - to unveil his much-touted "deal of the century," aka "fraud of the century" that ignores and betrays Palestiniains. Netanyahu brought with him settler leaders - "colonizers of our time" - to clarify his enduring Palestinian stance: Destroy their homes and trees, steal their land and tractors, abuse and kill them because, says the father of a murdered teenager, "This is Israel's way."

So Much For America's Mayor
Poor flunkee Rudy Colludy, who's gone from America's Mayor - long a questionable moniker - to Trump's lapdog to, per GOP lawyers' latest "defense" of Mr. Impeachment, an about-to-land-under-a-bus "minor player" and "shiny object" who didn't have anything to do with Ukraine or....anything. Later, Rudy had the misfortune to be caught on video walking down the street as his fearless former denizens zealously jeered and cursed him - one more reason to love ever-scrappy New Yorkers.

The Department of Life Except For, You Know, Brown Kids In Cages, Poor People, Mass Shooting Victims, Jews/Muslims/Atheists, Women Who Want Control Over Their Own Bodies and Other Malcontents
Because God knows he's under no pressure these unimpeachable days, Trump along with his unholy henchmen is big time doing up the "sanctity of life" thing - joining anti-abortion zealots, renaming Health and Human Services the gob-smacking "Department of Life," sending an official Space Force Bible into the cosmos and otherwise insisting he is “fighting for those who have no voice," as long as "those" are white, Christian and Trump-inclined. The irate consensus: " Good job doing fascism, guys."

One Of Our Very Smart People: RIP Streams, Wetlands, Water, Life on the Planet
It's bad enough our moronic mobster - windmill cancer! nuking hurricanes! - wants to historically gut c lean water protections to further his rabid anti-science-and-Obama crusade. Worse, dozens of EPA employees say their expertise was dismissed to push a rule change that's "in conflict with established science," and the recent shuttering of the TOXMAP federal database for tracking pollution, "an essential tool for our environmental right-to-know,” means now you'll never know what hit you.

A Very Naughty Boy
Damn. Terry Jones - director, writer, Chaucer scholar, Spam Lady, co-founder of the surreal, mordant, gleefully weird Monty Python and "the beating heart of it all” - has died at 77 of dementia. Jones wrote and directed much of the group's lunatic material and also performed, often inexplicably in drag. In ardent tributes, fans thanked him for a "gloriously misspent youth," praised the "untrammelled joy and delight" he gave, and panned his death as "the only thing he ever did that wasn’t funny."

Flim-Flam Collins, Yet Again
As the crass GOP show trial begins - a legal charade deemed "the equivalent of impeachment jazz hands” - smack in the middle of the tawdry proceedings is Maine's ever-waffling rapist apologist Susan 'My Words Mean Nothing' Collins, who's been teasing she may want to hear from witnesses but oh dear, for now, just voted against them. Shocker. Andy Borowitz reports she went through the same “troubled and concerned" shtick over lunch. Then she got a roast beef sandwich - just like Mitch.

The Power of Righteousness
Amidst dispiriting times, we pay tribute to the ever-radical Martin Luther King Jr. and his fervent call to end the "withering injustice" endured by African-Americans, from economic inequity to police brutality. King often decried those urging black people to staidly wait for their freedom "when this 'Wait' has almost always meant never" - or, in the case of newly released Del Africa, the 8th of nine long-incarcerated Black Liberation MOVE members, a harrowing 42 years.

Trump Burned To the Ground
Throwing some serious shade, unknown arsonists have burned down a massive, bizarro, clenched-fist wooden statue of Trump in Slovenia that had earlier been the target of threats and hostile tractors. To its creator, the statue represented a two-faced "populist," complete with vampire side. But the perpetrators - whether in an act of artistic censure or civil disobedience - had had enough, and many rejoiced. "(They) just killed the devil walking on earth," said one. "It was the right decision."

All In This Together
The madness slows, but the bellicose clowns still run the circus: Trump offers lame lies to explain the Iran debacle, his thugs raise money by praising " the swift actions of our Commander-in-Chief," his sociopathic eldest son flaunts "a little extra awesome" - an AR-15 with images of Hillary behind bars and medieval crusader icons favored by white supremacists. Meanwhile, an Iranian in Trump's America struggles to answer his daughter's fearful, plaintive ask: "Baba, are we safe?"

Convict and Remove
On the second day of ongoing moves to Swarm the Senate, activists gathered at Mitch McConnell's office to recite Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution, outlining the impeachment process for the president and "all civil officers" to be removed from office for "treason, bribery or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." FYI for D.C-ers: Insisting "h e needs to go," progressive groups will be protesting daily "for as long as it takes" to demand Trump's conviction and removal.
