9/11: Ten Years Later, Americans Still Stupid and Vulnerable
They say everything changed on 9/11. No one can dispute that. But we didn't learn anything.
Like other events that forced Americans to reassess their national priorities (the Great Depression, Pearl Harbor, Sputnik) the attacks on New York and Washington were a traumatic, teachable moment.
The collective attention of the nation was finally focused upon problems that had gone neglected for many years. 9/11 was a chance to get smart—but we blew it.
First and foremost the attacks gave the United States a rare opportunity to reset its international reputation. Even countries known for anti-Americanism offered their support. "We are all Americans," ran the headline of the French newspaper Le Monde.
The century of U.S. foreign policy that led to 9/11—supporting dictators, crushing democratic movements, spreading gangster capitalism at the point of a thousand nukes—should and could have been put on hold and reassessed in the wake of 9/11.
It wasn't time to act. It was time to think.
It was time to lick our wounds, pretend to act confused, and play the victim. It was time to hope the world forgot how we supplied lists of pro-democracy activists to a young Saddam Hussein so he could collect and kill them, and forget the "Made in USA" labels on missiles shot into the Gaza Strip from U.S.-made helicopter gunships sold to Israel.
It was time, for once, to take the high road. The Bush Administration ought to have treated 9/11 as a police investigation, demanding that Pakistan extradite Osama bin Laden and other individuals wanted in connection with the attacks for prosecution by an international court.
Instead of assuming a temperate, thoughtful posture, the Bush Administration exploited 9/11 as an excuse to start two wars, both against defenseless countries that had little or nothing to do with the attacks. Bush and company legalized torture and ramped up support for unpopular dictatorships in South and Central Asia and the Middle East, all announced with bombastic cowboy talk.
Smoke 'em out! Worst of the worst! Dead or alive!
By 2003 the world hated us more than ever. A BBC poll showed that people in Jordan and Indonesia—moderate Muslim countries where Al Qaeda had killed locals with bombs—considered the U.S. a bigger security threat than the terrorist group.
In fairness to Condi Rice, Don Rumsfeld and Bush's other leading war criminals, everyone else went along with them. The media refused to question them. Democratic politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, cast votes in favor of Bush's wars. Democrats and leftist activists ought to have pushed for Bush's impeachment; they were silent or supportive.
9/11 was "blowback"—proof that the U.S. can't wage its wars overseas without suffering consequences at home. But we still haven't learned that lesson. Ten years later, a "Democratic" president is fighting Bush's wars as well as new ones against Libya, Somalia and Yemen. Now he's saber-rattling against Syria.
American officials correctly inferred from 9/11 that security, particularly at airports but also in ports where container ships arrive daily from around the world, had been lax. Rather than act proactively to close gaps in transportation security, however, bureaucrats for the new Department of Homeland Security created a gauntlet of police-state harassment so onerous that it has threatened the financial health of the aviation industry.
"Aviation security is a joke, and it's only a matter of time before terrorists destroy another airplane full of innocent passengers," wrote Barbara Hollingsworth of The Washington Examiner after the 2009 "underwear bomber" scare. As Hollingsworth pointed out, the much-vaunted federal air marshals have been removed from flights because the TSA is too cheap to pay their hotel bills. (This is illegal.) What's the point of taking off your shoes, she asked, when planes are still serviced overseas in unsecured facilities? No one has provided an answer.
Ten years after 9/11, there is still no real security check when you board a passenger train or bus. Perhaps the sheer quantity of goods arriving at American ports makes it impossible to screen them all, but we're not even talking about the fact that we've basically given up on port security.
While we're on the subject of post-9/11 security, what about air defenses? On 9/11 the airspace over the Lower 48 states was assigned to a dozen "weekend warrior" air national guard jets. Every last one of them was on the ground when the attacks began, allowing hijacked planes to tool around the skies for hours after they had been identified as dangerous.
Which could easily happen again. According to a 2009 report by the federal General Accounting Office on U.S. air defenses: "The Air Force has not implemented ASA [Air Sovereignty Alert] operations in accordance with DOD, NORAD, and Air Force directives and guidance, which instruct the Air Force to establish ASA as a steady-state (ongoing and indefinite) mission. The Air Force has not implemented the 140 actions it identified to establish ASA as a steady-state mission, which included integrating ASA operations into the Air Force's planning, programming, and funding cycle. The Air Force has instead been focused on other priorities, such as overseas military operations."
Maybe if it stopped spending so much time and money killing foreigners the American government could protect Americans.
On 9/11 hundreds of firefighters and policemen died because they couldn't communicate on antiquated, segregated bandwidth. "Only one month away from the 10th anniversary of 9/11," admits FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, "our first responders still don't have an interoperable mobile broadband network for public safety. Our 911 call centers still can't handle texts or pictures or video being sent by the phones that everyone has."
Because the corporate masters of the Democratic and Republican parties love the low wage/weak labor environment created by illegal immigration, American land borders are intentionally left unguarded.
A lot changed on 9/11, but not everything.
We're still governed by corrupt idiots. And we're still putting up with them.
What does that say about us?

Show AllKeep kicking ass and I will too, on the forums and on the streets.
Expanding on an earlier thought, it gravely disappoints me when a site like CD allows trolls and others to have character attacks, denouncements, and lies, but if you call them a jackass, boy howdy are you in trouble for a breach of decorum!
Go away.
I have never seen you, (and I apologize for forgetting to include you on the earlier EMBED list) criticize your OWN cronies who dominate these threads... this is the ONLY thread today to which I've posted more than one comment. Due to time constraints, I generally limit myself to 1-3 threads a day. Yet here you are, a Shawn Berry wannabe, making this allegation? And describing my taking the time to lay out some well conceived commentary as "disgusting." Sure... it may be disgusting to right wing Christians who are not accustomed to educated women telling them what they don't want to hear. Anything outside of their authoritarian, artificially retarded intellectual context.
I realize that Homeland Security sees you dangerous frauds as "assets," and once you "develop" a screen persona, telling us what work you (don't) do, and your wife's nationality, and what part of the country you (don't) live in... it makes you so real, and just like "ONE" of the forum. Why retire a name after all the hours that went into developing its persona, right? Even if citizens like me are paying your salaries...
And cowards, by God.. here I am ONE woman trying to make a difference, one woman who's been largely censored from the media roles she formerly played, on her own dime publishing book after book to try to raise consciousness, and you creeps show up to denigrate my work, attempt to bully me, and/or sully my reputation? And then of all indecencies, you HIDE behind an endless stream of screen names? And call my work disgusting? What's next, witch trials?
I think the original cast, you know, Dennis Duncan, Martian Bachelor, Marco Nanto, Uncle Stanley (Jennifer Bedingfield's Uncle, sure), Peter Pike, Frederick Douglas, maybe even the idiot Nebraska Nathan and Encino Man are STILL posting... but now they've "advanced" to new screen names. I wonder if you get paid by the persona, the way a writer used to get paid by the work count of the articles they submitted?
Well, fellas.. you can have a nice little teenage girl style gossip session, because I have dinner plans tonight. So nice chatting with you, Nazis, but I really prefer to spend my time Writing The Future... the one without militarism, where scoundrels like you will be kept safely behind bars where you can do no harm. You could start banging your head agains the wall now... as practice.
Ta Ta.
While your tactics are disgusting, your self-deluded conceit is harder still to stomach. If, as you say:
"here I am ONE woman trying to make a difference, one woman who's been largely censored from the media roles she formerly played, on her own dime publishing book after book to try to raise consciousness"
logic suggests that you need to self publish on your own dime because your writing is not worth the investment of a legitimate publisher. The vanity press exists for this very reason, only the seriously self-obsessed would imagine that a nefarious conspiracy exists to hide one's earth shaking polemics from the public. If you have to use the income you generate from fortune telling and fairy tales into your self-publishing schemes just think of it as recycling, one piece of garbage for another.
Yet another sycophantic SR sockpuppet! You've been scrambling all over this "discussion" trying to defend her with your insults...for what? Do you need her approval so much or did she offer you a discount on your horoscope? You should talk about "getting a life", where is your existence outside of your deference to SR's agenda. And, sadly, her whole philosophy is a steaming amalgam of lies and slander topped off with a narcissism that is pathetic, especially at her age. At least SR is the real thing, the Norma Desmond of the withering New Age. What's your claim to fame?
Non-normal inquest- What is your agenda? What is your comment other than attacking Sioux Rose? You have not even mentioned the article, or your opinions about the "hijackers"- Do you hate the Afghans because they "attacked" us? Or -Are you glad we "got" Saddam Hussein because he was a bad man, even if the Iraq economy was in shambles, could not pose a threat to US, and the lies about Weapons Of Mass Distraction could not be substantiated? Or - Did you not know that steel framed buildings always collapse when there is a fire in the building? These "questions" are the type of constructed lies your "group" promotes as valid intelectual interchange, but always they morph into personal slander, libel, and other simple bullshit. I put group in quotations because the syntax, vernacular, and pattern of communication is clearly composed by one/or same intellect and while disseminated under many personas and screen names does not represent a "group" of people. So for the record- Do you recognize Sioux Rose as a human being?
I second your opinion, Siouxrose. CD has some of the sharpest commenters on the whole Web. And several trolls, unfortunately, as you know too well.
Thanks Siouxrose, except that it appears the powers that be at CD didn't like what I had to say, and removed my comment.
I'll rephrase. I said this article was one of the worst articles I have ever read here on CD, in that it supports the mythology that we live in a democracy, it supports the official conspiracy theory of 911, and then suggests a police state like response based on both.
Then I proceeded to point out that thousands of credible scientists, engineers and architects are not fooled by state propaganda. 911 was a GLADIO style false flag attack (see Danielle Ganser's book here: http://amzn.to/lU7Ep2 )
and finally, I linked to the new video trailer for ae911truth.org 's upcoming new movie:

let's hope the censors don't delete this post.
Expect more articles like the above PoS in the next two weeks leading to the "tin anniversary" date.
How many Winston Smiths are there being kept busy writing this stuff?
The biggest denial system in the US is the denial that our society is an addict, an active addict, addicted to consuming the planet.
Al Gore talked about this in one of his books, and everyone, except those who work in addictions, scoffed.
But it's true, and until we get into "recovery" from our societal addiction, we can't learn anything.
US society became an addict when domestic oil production peaked in 1970. We have been floundering ever since.
Floundering in our addiction to entitlement and privilege. That's what drove all the events Rall talks about in this piece of work. It's truthful, but is only skims the surface, and addiction lives in the darkness beneath the surface, because it's shame-based. Shame can't survive being brought into the light.
So until the curtain of denial is torn down so we can get humble again and stop the addictive behaviors while starting new, healthy behaviors, we will continue down this path to extinction for our species.
Because this denial is the denial that allows us to say nothing while our leaders refuse to respond to climate change/global warming, the only natural process which threatens our species' extinction.
The feedback loop, as David Suzuki has said, is the 6th Great Extinction, now in progress.

"so we can get humble again"
I just don't think people who are already suffering injustice in various ways need 'humbling', they need empowerment.
And contemporary cultural norms imply acceptable habits, not addiction IMO. We need to challenge current societal practices and change the harmful habits, not cop to some difficult-to-combat 'addiction'.
Getting humble is getting real again, shedding the stuff that's been slung all over us and getting back to our true selves. Injustice is some of the stuff that blocks us from our true selves.
Are you an addictions professional? I was, in one of my former occupations, and it's intensely apparent to me that US society is an addict.
Have you read "Earth in the Balance," by Al Gore? It's like $1 at used bookstores, or try alibris.com.
It's not acceptable to sit back and allow your country to run a global empire in your name.
Addiction isn't that difficult to combat if the shame can be avoided, and the latest medical research shows that addiction is indeed a disease, like mumps or measles, that we can not help having. Addiction is not a character defect, as most seem to think now. It's a primary, progressive, terminal disease. First it takes your life then it kills you.
Contemporary cultural norms create grossly distorted humans. Contemporary culture turns a blind eye to what it takes to keep it atop the privilege heap on Earth.
Have you read "When Society Becomes an Addict" by Anne Wilson Schaef? It was way ahead of it's time, and denial ultimately crushed it, but you can still get it for $1 or so from the online used book sites. I like alibris.com.
If you read Schaef's book and can still tell me what you've said in response to my post - well, you seem reasonable and intelligent, so you'll see.
When we address the problem rather than its symptoms, we have a better chance of getting to a real solution.
Thanks for the response.
Smiles.

"They say everything changed on 9/11. No one can dispute that. But we didn't learn anything."
Really Mr. Rall?
Watch and be amazed!
Everything DID NOT change on 9/11(/2001).
See? Easy.
"We" may not have learned anything from the events of that day, but from this article we learn that -in this day and age- a popular cartoonist can become a published writer even if he can't write a decent lead to save his life! ;)
Effective argument is always ready to concede a few points. I'm not sure I'm ready to concede that our involvement in Libya was a good idea, but Bernard Henry Levy, the French public intellectual, is. His credibility with me is not entirely tarnished; usually, e.g., he despises Mr. Sarkozy, but in this case praises him for his part in the intervention which has led to such exhilaration and feelings of freedom (see the faces!) in good Libyan people.
But we're not good, generally, with placing our military presence around the world, which we do so much and so often. And what are the results? Horrible.
I am willing to admit that I don't know yet whether the American intervention in Libya was a good idea, but am adamant that our continued presence in Afghanistan is absolutely insane and only good for one thing-- as a demonstration that American "leadership" is uneducable and sociopathically unable to learn from the experience of other nations.
Another horrible thing is the way American politics works like an advertising agency, always making ridiculous claims. If Libya was okay, then maybe Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, etc. was, too. NOT!!!!
So tragic, that this author, unwittingly, helps bury any chance that we will ever get to the truth of what happened on 9/11.
A big part of what makes America perpetually stupid about 9-11:
I've observed that it appears simply impossible in the context of mainstream American discourse to maintain the aura of being a 'serious voice' while simultaneously maintaining that 9-11 was most likely a false-flag operation and a highly coordinated inside job. It doesn't matter if almost every informed reader on CD appreciates and is aware of the ample and blatant evidence everywhere strewn in the wreckage of the official 9-11 story, or even the 'official alternate story which 'challenges' the official story' (i.e. what Rall is presenting here in large part).
The fact, illustrated even by a pillar of the opposition's opinion on the matter, Noam Chomsky, is that no person of intellectual stature in the West is willing to stake their reputation in the public sphere by even going near the true evidence surrounding the events of 9-11, and how so many of these events conveniently served the interests of the power-elites (coordinating perfectly with the plans/interests of PNAC, the oil barons, and war profiteers like the Carlyle Group et al.... and how closely the strategy matched the thinking behind the Reichstag fire and subsequent Nazi ascension). They will always move on to a more 'responsible' argument, such as the *response America took afterwards*, or the evidence that 'people knew something was coming'.... or remain focused myopically on the all too real effects of blowback.
Today in America, it is the ultimate public taboo to openly claim that this was the conspiracy of conspiracies, and that we've all been tragically sucker punched by our own 'guides' and 'protectors'. And now, because of some kind of blindness, or inability to handle the truth, and some need beyond reason to maintain some comfortable illusion about ourselves by hiding from the implications of what a nation capable of such an horrific and deceptive act might really represent... therefore we remain psychologically hog-tied due to our own unspoken and self-inflicted dissociative disorder. By an extension of this disorder, we have made it social suicide to take any position more controversial than what Rall is presenting. And this is the key to why America, and subsequently the world, will for a very long time remain essentially stupid about what happened on that fateful day, and about what continues to happen in the world on a daily basis ten years later.
As stated by a number of others already, some excellent, almost poetically stated comments in this thread. If only the comment section were as pithy on solutions as it often is on analysis of the news and the insurmountable problems we all continue to face, often with no hope for relief in sight.
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." –John F. Kennedy,
Very well said, thank you.
" hiding from the implications of what a nation capable of such an horrific and deceptive act might really represent... "
are these implications really so surprising?
not to me.
They are harsh, even for me, but surprising, no.
As for the majority, I'm afraid the implications could be world-shattering. I guarantee that if the notion of the validity of this 'theory' were to gain mainstream traction, an inevitable violent upheaval would result. To many a patriotic 'merkan', frogs descending from the heavens, or even gay cats marrying gay dogs would pale in comparison to the heresy of thinking we could have been that victimized, that lied to, that controlled and manipulated, especially by such flag waving good Christians as Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld (lol) - oh, or such 'stalwarts of progressive enlightenment' like the Clintons and Obama (another lol).
Of course, this is what they've always been banking upon... the trusty theory that if you employ a lie *big enough*, it would will always be simply *too outrageous to even consider* trying to counter it. The idea to label ANYONE getting too close to the truth as a kooky conspiracy theorist was 100% intentonal from the beginning, on that I have little doubt.
I'll admit it - I'm a conspiracy theorist - and kooky.
wanna borrow my comb?
With all due respect, this article assumes, a priori, that the "official story" of 911 is more or less true, and that is something far, far from proven. Indeed, there is a great deal of evidence suggesting that the official story cannot possibly be true.
If we cannot say who did the deed, we certainly cannot say why.
And is the gentleman seriously suggesting we need even MORE brownshirt-style "security" such as the TSA?
What we REALLY need is an investigation of this crime -- a REAL investigation by real criminal investigators, not a pantomine by political hacks.
300 of my fellow firefighters were murdered on that day.
And many thousand of innocent people have been murdered since under the banner of revenge.
Now, I'm all for revenge.
I think the sons of bitches who did this should pay with their lives.
But I think we ought to make sure we get the RIGHT sons of bitches instead of just lynching whoever's handy.

Good essay, Ted.
I agree.
Whatever action the Cheney/Bush administration took, the wise thing to have done was the complete opposite ---which includes their fraudulent illegal wars.
WTC Bldg 7 told me that the whole thing was a sham...a perfectly engineered ruse a la Naomi Klein's thesis that shocks are purposefully induced for distractive effect, for profiteers to seize the opportunity created. Things are not accidental.....they are planned, tracks are covered, silence purchased.
Obama, a Nobel Peace Prizer, has determined that Bush41's mantra of "staying the course" is the proper thing to do......Nero and fiddles come to mind.
Wall Street's coupe d etat of Washington DC as described by Taibbi with the bubble collapse and the engineered financial crash only added exclamation points to the totality of plutocratic dominance, and the "elevator-weight-goes-down-while-the-elevator rises" phenomenon of the simultaneous diminishment of democracy.
The American people are brainwashed.
The software they have absorbed.....allowed themselves to absorb perhaps, not to completely excuse some culpability......has conditioned them to NOT question, to NOT think, to NOT see the obvious.
Machiavelli would be so proud.
Nothing really has changed. Corrupt, inept and, in some cases, ignorant and stupid people are still in charge. So what's new?
"Americans Still Stupid and Vulnerable"
Speak for yourself, Mr. Rall.
This piece is a mess. As usual, I'm a day late and a dollar short, and there are some very good posts on this thread, so I'll try not to repeat
9/11 wasn't a "chance to get smart" in the sense of the article. Even if Mr. Rall has not read PNAC (and if he hasn't, why hasn't he?), he would be wise to study up on the methods and history of corporate power and empire and how they have *everything* to do with policy. U.S. imperialism doesn't consist of "problems that have gone neglected for many years" that can be swept away when something "traumatic" lets us see the light. Especially, it is impossible that they would be swept away by the very people who are profiting from them. But they are not "us". (Who is "us", by the way? I think it was RickWright above who pointed out that Rall uses "we" ambiguously. The Bush administration and political/military establishment were not "we"; yet, somehow, "we" are conflated with it. From Rall, you'd never know that a military-industrial-media complex exists.)
One paragraph states that "It was time to lick our wounds, pretend to act confused, and play the victim. It was time to hope the world forgot..." The next paragraph begins with "It was time, for once, to take the high road." Is "playing the victim" taking the "high road"? This sounds benighted (or at least insensitive) in the extreme as the primary modus operandi of U.S. is to play the victim and not own up to its murderous propensity.
"Everyone else went along with them...The media refused to question them." Who is "everyone"? In regard to the media, does it give you a clue, Mr. Rall? You know who owns and controls it, right? Military...industrial...media
"Democrats and leftist activists ought to have pushed for Bush's impeachment..." Sure, they "ought" to have, but Democrats, for the most part, have a similar agenda. It's the same club, you know. Many leftists did push for Bush's impeachment. The question in my mind is why they are not similarly pushing for Obama's impeachment.
" We're still governed by corrupt idiots, and we're still putting up with them." I'll put aside the question of their "idiocy". If I could make them all disappear, I would. Unfortunately, I don't have the power. I'm sure there are millions of people in the U.S. who feel the same way. But it is not useful to tell someone who is living with widespread cancer to "get over it."
Would it be a mistake to assume that CD views the *abuse of the flag feature* as an even worse abuse than posting activity which might prompt the valid use of flagging? Insulting or attacking a fellow poster is arguably grounds for a removal of the offending post, but misuse of the flag feature as a means of intimidating a valued and honest board-member should result in removal of the offending poster(s), impo. Just sayin..
The admins usually ignore the flags unless they find them to be legit. I've gotten rogue flagged a few times before in the past but didn't lose a comment there. They sometimes unflag the flag from what I've seen before.
Such emotional name calling while we're all standing on the back of the Titanic.
"Ten years later, a "Democratic" president (Nobel peace prize winner) is fighting Bush's wars as well as new ones against Libya, Somalia and Yemen. Now he's saber-rattling against Syria." May be we need to have some insight into what sustains war-military-indutrial complex. Is it our collective ignorance about the blindspots of the financial system (self-imposed prison)? Can we conquer it through a mindful revolution and a system change that happens peacefully first in our mind and perception through collective learning ...
Respectfully
http://www.imow.org/economica/stories/viewStory?storyId=4765
Mita, that was an excellent comment and article that you brought up. As one who used to work for a company related to MIC years ago, I find it troubling that most progressives fail to discuss the economic factors responsible for sustaining the MIC. Even on the Left, there's too much classist mentality and that includes the collective ignorance that you mentioned. Believe it or not, it connects very well to 9/11 since politicians and their business goons exploit our weaknesses including the division and infighting within the Left itself. I'm all the way with you that peaceful and collective learning is what we need but I can't promise you that we on the Left will be in solid agreement on that as long as we allow "more equal than others" to keep us divided and losing as always. From some of the eastern thinking and psychology books that I have been reading, it takes a strengthened but peaceful mindset followed by organization and unity to be successful.
(pssst...Ted...it was an inside job. No need for the agencies/military/establishment to make the recommended changes....especially when said changes would only decrease their bottom line, and actually increase the chances that better x-communication would turn up an un-erased factoid.)
I never understand why people need to turn every mention of the events of 11 Sept. 2001 and the response to them into a dispute over "what really happened" on that date, and especially whether it was an "inside job" or not.
Surely the Empire needs destroying anyway?
Matti, perhaps because people get tired of having a Big Lie thrown in their faces, month after month, for ten years? a lie that has cost us over a trillion dollars and more than a million lives (in Afghanistan, Iraq, the US, and other places)? Since the corporate media has blacked out the issue and become just a mouthpiece regurgitating the official conspiracy theory (OCT) (which is not only unproven but has been proven impossible), it is up to those of us who have done the real research to continually put for the truth that the Big Media refuses to. I for one will not remain silent in the face of this monstrous lie, and if gatekeepers like Ted Rall choose to continue presuming the truth of the OCT, I will continue to put forth the facts and logical conclusions that reveal it to be the Big Lie that it was. Lies do not cease to be lies merely by repeating them often enough. The OCT is a lie. 9/11 was a Mossad-Special Forces operation. The evidence contradicting the OCT is overwhelming; we don't need another official inquiry to establish that it was an inside job, but to bring the architects and perpetrators to justice, and wake the American people up.
And since when does Truth need some strategic value to be worth pursuing anyway? Doesn't establishing the Truth have intrinsic merit? I mean, we are not talking about something marginal here. 9/11 was a huge historical event, and we continue to live in that historical period governed by how it has been spun by the govt. and mass media. As to the Empire being destroyed, what better way to end it than by revealing the self-evidently false OCT to be a Big Lie? You think most Americans would just shrug it off if they knew the truth? I don't.
"Surely the Empire needs destroying anyway"? Yes,yes, yes matti, but from my perspective, if 911 was exposed it might crack the Empire. And whatever one believes about 911, unless you are a brainwashed, Foxy News, political moron, it is a no brainer that what we were told by our corrupt leaders and the whore MSM was nothing but a pack of lies! That is an absolute fact. Someone has gotten away with the murder of 3,000 of our innocent and fellow citizens.
Ted, Ted, Ted...
sold out...
Ted, please go read "The Emperor's New Clothes", then watch the David Chandler videos and others which clearly show that the twin towers and building 7 were all blown up with explosives.
The right-wingers think the troglodytes came to America and attacked us all, and they are crazy- the right-wingers. The Left is no less crazy because on the big issue of the WTC attacks, supposedly left-wing journalists fall all over themselves and each other trying not to offend anyone over the truth of 9/11, and writing an endless series of circuitous and essentially useless analyses of the past ten years, because every article is based on the false first premise, and so everything that follows is a waste of time.
The story can never, ever make sense as long as people cling to the absolute fantasy they have been fed about 9/11.
No history that is worth anything can be written without accepting that the WTC was blown up with explosives, and that this was most probably an inside job by elements within the he U.S. government.
A cruise missile hit the Pentagon. There was no airliner there. Cruise missiles happen to be items which not too many people have. That should narrow down the list of suspects.
Why doed Common Dreams continue to publish pap (about 9/11-related subjects) which is a waste of time to read, because it always denies the single most important fact of United States history in this century?
Who are we so worried about offending? The liars?
"Journalists" in this country seem to be mostly quisling types. Very, very few will come out and talk about what really needs to be mentioned- which is, let me say it again, that the World Trade Center buildings were blown up with explosives.
It is absoutely astounding to me that for ten years, the proof has been right before our eyes- look at the films of the buildings falling down, and tell me how hundreds of thousands of tons of concrete were pulverized in mid-air.
Tell me how gravity throws huge pieces of steel weighing many tons horizontally for hundreds of feet.
Tell me how gravity shredded bodies right into that impossibly big cloud and dropped human bones on building rooftops blocks away.
I am so sick and tired of the mass denial about the most important [U.S.] event of this century, and also its biggest unsolved crime.
People should watch the videos until they get it.
If you don't get it that the WTC buildings were exploded, then you haven't studied enough. That is what I want every last person in this country to do.
The buildings could not have come down the way they did from gravity. Only in Bizarro World could that happen.
And they could not have come APART the way they did, unless high explosives were used.
I don't even want to talk to most Americans any more- even on the Left!- because of this mass denial.
I am not a crank, I am not insane, I am not a conspiracy nut, I do not wear tin foil, and I am not a "truther". I'm a former construction worker who has built enough buildings to know that the materials in use in this day and age do not behave, cannot behave, and never will behave- not in a million years!- the way the government liars have tried to convince us.
It's time for the ooh-ing and aah-ing over the Emperor's magnificent, invisible, and nonexistent clothes to stop. It is time to give it up and look at reality. The biggest elephant in the room, in my whole lifetime, actually, is the fraud over the WTC attacks. Continuing to act on the belief in this fraud will continue to destroy this country.
A lie is very destructive even in one individual's life. When a whole nation lives by a lie, what happens?
YES, YES, YES.....and a huge BRAVO to you Frodnonag for this MAGNIFICENT resumé of "the BIG LIE." You, a construction worker, recognized the controlled implosion immediately. I likewise recognized the controlled implosion, watched it "live" on TV...and knew it was an inside job from day one. Never worked a minute of my life on a construction site, just an aging boomer with an ounce of COMMON SENSE, thank God. Worked for a short time with an architect and did witness a few controlled demolitions during the '90s by the Oiseau brothers (those same people who cleaned up WTC site after the 911 demolitions....strange coincidence indeed, lol.)
...but regardless of that, anyone with eyes to SEE knew on that fateful morning that gravity alone could NEVER have produced THREE perfect tower domolitions, precisely into their own footprints, and at the speed of free-fall without ANY resistance.
Only morons could not see the truth that day, and only morons cling to the official lie to this day. Living in a country surrouned by such morons became unbearable for me, which is why I finally fled my "homeland" (LOL) in 2006 and have never regretted that move.
the USA is sooooo sinister and soooooo sick at this point, there is no way to "reform" or "heal" it. Things will soon collapse at every level, and only the strong of heart and pure of spirit will be capable of creating a new nation....based on clarity and truth.
And on the first day of that new nation -- I trust that the truth about 911 "inside job" will finally be revealed, acknowledged and accepted as the darkest day in USA history; not for the "attack" by Al Quaida on USA soil...but for the attack by our OWN government upon its own citzens and upon the citizens of several dozen other nations, all of whom died in the towers on 911. Not to mention the ten years of "profitable" wars the cheney-buth psychopaths were able to initiate and pursue due to their own murder and mayhem inflicted upon the american people and nation.
