Sooner or Later Our Children Will Ask: "How Did This Happen?"
“Sweetheart, I Guess We Just Forgot”
That it hasn’t happened yet, continues to amaze me. But sooner or later it will. Sooner or later our children, saddled with our debts, our endless wars and the ever more onerous demands of a predatory “national security state”, will turn to us in large numbers and ask how it happened. They will want to know how the many millions of us who were lucky enough to grow up in the American middle class of the 1960s and 1970s, let it come to this. They will want to know why we who enjoyed personal freedoms and opportunities to “find our bliss”, opportunities that they can only dream of, decided to leave them with a world structured, most of all, by fear and dread.
The smooth talkers among us—and there are many--will no doubt start by explaining just how complicated life really is, how processes over which we “have no control” such as globalization and terrorism, have chipped away at our good life and left them holding the bag. They will repeat over and again, and in one form or another, that these were “natural” and/or “unforeseen” developments that simply overwhelmed the ability our existing institutions. In other words, as they sit in the 4,000 square foot house they did not really need, a house that, in fact, no one really needs, they will paint themselves as victims of history.
They will of course being lying, to their children, and more importantly, for the umpteenth time, to themselves.
If they were really interested in have a profitable dialogue with their children, something that might actually begin the process of delivering us to a better place, they would start with something simple like: “Sweetheart (or Buddy), I guess we just forgot”.
I guess we just forgot:
- That globalization didn’t just happen, but was rather carefully planned by US and to some extent, European political leaders during the last three decades (take a look at the genesis of GATT, NAFTA and a whole host of other trade deals) as a means of guaranteeing that our countries’ economic elites would continue exert control over grotesquely inordinate amount of the world’s valuable resources and pecuniary wealth.
- That the relatively impressive middle class freedoms and security we enjoyed as kids didn’t just come about by accident. Rather, they were the result of people like your grandparents making sacrifices, and yes, sometimes even saying no to things that might have benefited them personally because they knew that doing so would have a deleterious effect on the broader progress of the community.
- That being entertained is no the same as being engaged. I like ESPN as much as the next guy. But it is no substitute for the careful following of public events. Only a cadre of citizens engaged citizens able, and willing, to pitilessly call out, and yes, embarrass, elected officials on the basis of policy details andtheir counterproductive effects is, sadly enough, the only thing that garners their respect, and therefore the possibility of fundamental change.
- That “journalists” unable or unwilling to identify with these same engaged citizens and who prefer instead to shy away from conflict in the name of guaranteeing their continuing “access” to power are not part of the solution but rather, a big part of the problem.
- That working within the system, or as our generation loves to say, “getting a place at the table in order to effect change” is a technique that has well-known limits, one that leads much more often than we have wanted to admit to the co-optation of good intentions by very powerful and ruthless forces.
- That when it comes to the creation of “public-private partnerships” the private part of the equation almost always gets more of what it wants or needs than does a broad swathe of the public.
- That just because Soviet-style Communism collapsed under the weight of its bastardized decrepitude, that didn’t mean that the problem of social class and the tendency of society’s economic elites to want to endlessly maximize their power over us has became a non-issue.
- That in America, the primary function of the government has never, ever, as the last two presidents like to endlessly tell us, been to “protect the nation from external attack”. No nation, especially one that maintains a world-wide empire and that arrogates to itself the “right” to engage in torture, kidnapping, extra-judicial killing and the unprovoked invasion of countries can, or should, be immune from the slightest suggestion of blowback. To suggest otherwise is to spin infantilizing fantasies that, in the end, lead only to the curtailment of our own liberties.
- That a society that allows laws to be portrayed (and used) not as the blueprint of universal hopes and desires across time, but rather as the plaything of the rich and powerful, condemns itself to a downward spiral of seething internecine conflict, or, alternatively, to the ever-greater imposition, by those same rich and powerful people, of repressive measure designed to keep that seething sense of injustice from threatening their interests.
- That being enduringly happy on the individual level is, more than anything else, about learning to know and govern your fears and anxieties in such a way that other things and, more importantly still, other people are allowed to become something more than a screen upon which to play out your personal needs, desires and impulses.
- That, as Phil Rockstroh reminded us the other day in this same space, the libido is much more than what our media culture, with its desire to make us believe that all is ultimately saleable and thus controllable tells us it is. Yes, the libido is about sex. But, more fundamentally, it is about freedom and creativity. It is the force that impels us to do things against our better judgment, to talk to the person we “shouldn’t” talk to, to take up the leisure or vocational pursuit “we have no business” taking up, to express the thoughts that no prudent person one “in his or right mind” should ever utter in public.
- That constantly putting your moist finger up in the air to see which way the wind is blowing (and building a political system around this “principle”) is not only quite boring, but ultimately quite soul-deadening…as is assuming, in the face of all historical evidence to the contrary, that the rules and pressures that govern you life today (including the vaunted two party system) more or less eternal and that, in the light of this “reality”, you’re best off, trying to cut the best deal you can with the parade of false and unsavory characters around see around you.
Yes, Sweetheart, we have forgotten a lot of things. And this is just the beginning of the list.

If you oppress me, my words will gather strength,
If you imprison me, my words will grow in power,
If you embattle me, my words will turn destruction against you,
If you kill me, my words will haunt your grandchildren's, grandchildren,

If you embrace me, my words will fade into yours, as yours fade into mine, my lips will speak of you, as yours speak of me,
Together we build tolerance, understanding, compassion, trust and truth,
Divided we foster only fear and kill only trust, divided we know only the death of the other,
Together we understand and know our lives, and embrace the Hymn of Peace for our grandchildren's, grandchildren.

This is really a gorgeous little commentary. It reminds me yet again of why I chose to be child-free, even as it breaks my heart for the children of others. As an aunt of two little boys and a girl, I have watched both sets of educated, intelligent parents abdicate any responsibility whatsoever today for their children's tomorrows. They tell me they love their kids. I suspect, and suspect Mr. Harrington knows as well, that the "Sweetheart, I guess we just forgot," is another deadly little white lie meant to disown and cover up responsibility for moral failings. I would suggest that little chat begin with, "Honey, we just didn't care." A conversation not begun with the truth will inevitably be dishonest.
To WJM -- June 18 2011 - 11:58am:
I'm really getting annoyed with that comment about the comment on this thread. The articles can be 100% dead beat scribbling, and someone will STILL come in here and laud them, having some praise for every single thing printed here.
Yes, I am with Readytotransform. Yes, I am defending the critical stance of the bloggers here. Critique is essential to healthy political speech.
All polemics aside now, this article makes worthwhile critical points, especially about Empire, the single greatest threat to the survival of the Republic.
Oh, yes, by all means, I absolutely advocate NOT thinking. Freaking hell, do you INTENTIONALLY put up crap that has NOTHING to do with what I wrote? Damn, what is it, pile on for fun day around here?
There is MORE to critical thinking than just bad mouthing every article, every author, every thought, every idea, and every conclusion. And yet, that is ALL I see here anymore. Someone does a good thing for the country, the world, or even just their next door freaking neighbor, and the next thing we hear is how he once kicked a dog on his way to work. Someone prints a good article with good points and thoughts in it and all we hear is why something in it is wrong, without ANY ideas of how to fix it. Critical thinking is MORE than just nitpicking the hell out of everything. What I'm seeing here more and more is noting but character assassination and nay saying of everything without offering a thing to make up for it. And the result is NOT advancement of ideas, it's just pouring cold water on what COULD be a decent discussion.
Yeah, I'm REALLY telling people to stop thinking. Why would I do that? Most people have done so on their own LONG before I would tell them a thing.
You have some good points. I like to pay attention to the good, bad, and ugly. True, cherry-picking and jumping to wrong conclusions can be dangerous. But what makes a lot of comments stand out really well is that they provide extra but relevant/critical details that the articles themselves fail to cover. I like both of what you and readytotransform write even with all the differences. Infighting can get out of control and then I'll just take a vacation from this site and read from the archives later to catch up.
Great article. Very insightful.
How do we begin to turn this thing around?
My answer is to somehow transform the poison which is killing our society slowly............the media.
SPIRD - Smartest Person In the Room Disorder
It happens on the blogs, it is the biggest reason we don't have viable alternative parties.
Tom writes a persuasive article that uses the device that our children, the next & subsequent generation will ask us to objectively look at the muck we have made of our country. But he made several punctuation errors so I will ignore his message.
As far as the message to "our" children, the same powers that put us to sleep are already inculcating the youth that it's their fault if they feel that anything is wrong.
"Countless people with a personality disorder similar to those of Hitler or Ceausescu inhabit our planet, destroying life wherever they find it. How can one recognize such people?" asks Alice Miller in her book "Breaking Down the Wall of Silence." "Above all by the way they claim the enslavement of others to be their salvation and their own crimes to be actions taken in the best interests of others. The deceptive language of pedagogy brings unbelievable calamities. And, without exception, such tyrants always use the language of traditional child rearing. As long as people have not learned to see through the deceitfulness of such language and reject it in the speeches of politicians who claim 'national salvation' or 'Yes we can,' it will continue to serve them well. The deadly unconscious rage of the child that was prevented from living has been shown in the works of Hitler, Stalin and Ceausescu. At the height of their power, these men still feared their fathers' assaults. Hitler had the places connected with his Austrian origins razed to the ground. In Rumania, Ceausescu sought to liquidate his past. If the Rumanian people had not been able to free themselves, this process of liquidation would have seen no end," she writes. And so it goes with the U.S. and the world. The corporations and politicians of the world will continue spewing to their "children" that drilling in the Arctic is the best for them and that nuclear power should "be kept on the table" and that the "ship must be turned slowly" with "austerity" and suffering before redemption comes. This time, as with Hitler (if he had had possession of the bomb in WWII), there is no calming of the rage until there is nothing left to kill and, perhaps, then the person who was beaten as a child can stand--alone--in the world, satiated? With all else destroyed? Not quite. Miller writes that the person would then kill him or herself. Nothing will stop this but an international law that would prohibit child spanking and verbal abuse. But even Miller says this would only happen slowly, if at all, given that the Old Testament god, and most gods, want sacrifice before redemption and most people in the world still believe that absurd premise and will give their lives in ridiculous wars. "You cannot petition the lord with prayer!!!" yelled Jim Morrison of the Doors in "The Soft Parade." No, you cannot. You can only protest in microscopic ways, or the totalitarian state of the U.S. will haul you out of bed at 3 a.m. without the chance to say "I love you" to your spouse and children. What do we say to our children in the bleak future? "We thought that the genetic, nanotechological and robotic revolution, the Second Industrial Revolution (as propounded by Ray Kurzweil in "The Singularity") would help save the world for you. I hope Kurzweil is right.
Steve Homan, Thank you for your comment. Daily I see the results of parental abuse in our criminal justice system, which mirrors our political system. It reflects William Blake's image of the child born in the night to perish in the night from Auguries of Innocence.
People with personality-disorder always walked the face of the earth. Roman Emperors, anybody?
The sad truth is, that a personality-disorder is the prerequisite to join the ranks of those who feel compelled to save us against our own will.
It is fittingly described as a 'Chemical Imbalance' of the brain. Without this chemical imbalance in the head you don't want to become politician, police officer, soldier, president, priest or judge.
Without chemical imbalance above the shoulders you will focus on the 'here and now', focusing on what's up right this moment, growing your own food and realizing it's all JUST A RIDE. It's all in our minds.
Which makes one thing unmistakably clear: Change will only come with a change of mind. How can we change a mind that suffers from a chemical imbalance in what should be a brain? The answer for the global society is as inconvenient as it sounds ridiculously spiritually-religious.
'It's about Love, Compassion and Gratitude, Stupid!'
I've already told my kids, 30 & 27, that the US govt was hijacked by the bad guys decades ago. We've discussed Ike's warning about the MIC. We've discussed the events of 11 September as events staged by powerful traitors that control the government.
Thank you for this opportunity to join in this apology and an expression of "not in my name" prayer of forgiveness to our children.
Recurrent in this theme is the mention of POWER which should be taught to our children, for without power the wolves(Republicans) and the wolves in sheep's clothing(Democrats) or any other ruler will starve, cheat, oppress and eventually destroy the weaker. A prime example in history are the American indians.
Currently, it can be observed that the only condition for action is the statement that rules the day of "I have the power".
Actually, sooner or later The World will ask you "How could you let this happen?". As a native German I have heard this question infinite times. Now it will be the Americans that have to answer this question.
In all reality, we have become the Fourth Reich. Let us hope and work towards a future where justice will be brought to bear. With the Third Reich came the Nuremberg Trials. We should work towards nothing short of that as the list of atrocities grows at an ever alarming rate.
Really, how could we? Greed mostly. Not paying attention to history and not giving a shit about the future. No concern about higher learning. NO eternal vigilance, not that would have really mattered.
Best the kids could do is keep mom and dad locked up at home and starve them to death. Just a friendly way of saying mom and dad, you both suck. Or unplug their life support. Don't ever believe we don't deserve it!
Biggest shock may come from the 'elite's' kids who are sure to have been told that they will inherit all of 'this'. Hardly no doubt it will, along with the help of climate change, be an E.L.E.
Dr. Harrington ( i assume, no kin to the late Michael Harrington of the DSA), you look old enough to have children in their early 20's. Where IS the rising anger among US youth against the raw deal they have been handed by the older generation - particularly that Ayn Rand reading, Reagan-loving generation that arose in the 1980's, now in their 40's, who seem to be running things right now.
Not long ago I was waited on in a store by a former student who just asked me "What was Viet Nam all about?" I wish I had had the presence of mind to use Warren Beatty's line in the movie REDS: When asked what WWI was about he, as John Reed, answered "Profit".
We went into Vietnam with WW2 weapons and came out with modern weaponry.
Monsanto exfoliants work and now people buy them at the hardware store to poison their yards with.
Vietnam lasted 8 and 1/2 years
Afghanistan has lasted 10.
Opium production in Afghanistan has been on the rise since U.S. occupation started in 2001
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opium_production_in_Afghanistan
I contend that Vietnam was more about "Pride" than "Profit". MIC profits at the time were not obscene, as they are today. In the early 1960s, US pride was reeling from embarrassments in Cuba and Korea. It needed a "big war" to regain the pride of having "won" WWII. Vietnam was a useful proxy in the Global War Against Communism, and one that our political leaders needed.
"That being entertained is no the same as being engaged."
Try telling that to the ONE MILLION people who showed up in Boston to celebrate the Stanley Cup winners!
I feel sorry for readytotransform for taking a lot of flack but she's right. If kids are trained to be numb and not question, then just how the hell are the chances that they'll ask serious questions when they grow up to be adults high? By the way Rita, I understand that you're a psychologist and I thought about you and Elizabeth as I read through and keep reading books on eastern psychology. I'm no psychology guru but my Asian friends recommended that I study the basics of eastern psychology on top of studying their ancient and cultural traditions. This could get interesting and maybe I'll have something better to pass to my kids if I'm lucky enough to be a father on top of being a happily married man.
Per eastern psychology, can you recommend any titles?
There are plenty to choose from and I can't promise you that you'll be able to agree to absolutely everything of every book. Below are the titles for the books I've either read or am reading.
What the West can learn from the East: Asian perspectives on the psychology of Learning and Motivation
by Oon Seng Tan
Buddhist Practice on Western Ground: Reconciling Eastern Ideals and Western Psychology by Harvey B. Aronson
Self, Attitudes, and Emotion Work: Western Social Psychology and Eastern Zen Buddhism Confront Each Other by Anson Shupe and Christopher Bradley
Understanding Cross-Cultural Psychology: Eastern and Western Perspectives by Pittu Laungani
Perennial Psychology of the Bhagavad-Gita by Swami Rama
Yoga and Western Psychology by Geraldine Coster
Hindu Psychology: Its Meaning For the West by Swami Akhilananda
Mental Health and Hindu Psychology by Swami Akhilananda
Thank you.
From birth these kids have been indoctrinated with the concept that all social maladies are the fault of the individual. The idea is that: "if you have a problem with society that is YOUR problem alone."
"The environment is the responsibility of individuals to "clean up" by purchase decisions." (try cleaning up a open pit coal mine on weekends with help from your buddies......)
"The lack of jobs is because any individual without a job is too lazy to apply, train, perfect themselves, change their attitude, educate, indebt, grovel, ingratiate or perform self-help medical miracles in order to find a job."(never mind that automation and offshoring eliminate jobs at a furious rate)
"School failures are due to bad teachers" (never mind they teach classes of thirty drugged, obese, kids with six televisions, four computer games and no books at home)
"The housing crisis is the fault of homeowners to lazy to foresee all possible futures" (the same futures that Wall Street missed entirely)
etc, etc, etc.
Absent from any public discussion they ever see is society's responsibilities to them or the responsibility to serve ALL members of our communities.
Their brains haven't been washed; they've been bleached.
Pangolin, good point. You are on to something here. We are continually indoctrinated in the myth that all problems are rooted in individuals and have individual solutions. In reality, many problems are collective (systemic) and demand collective solutions.
How did this happen? Incredibly, we managed to elect to our highest office not one but two members of a very wealthy family that had completely escaped the ravages -- and the lessons -- of the Great Depression.
Oh, and the lessons of Vietnam? Well, we now have, don't you know, a completely volunteer fighting force. And no one can credibly claim that W. micromanaged Iraq. So there.
VITAL REFORMS –NO OPTIONS
Sadly all republican presidents since 1980 have sided with the right wing radicals, energy lobbyists, and other special interests to oppose family planning and other vital environmental reforms that would ease the inevitable future world famines.
Meanwhile our democrat presidents have opted to appease these interests to avoid the fate that met Jimmy Carter for his concerted efforts to implement these vital measures.
Until the populace will support a strong willed president and legislators, who will invoke the vital reform measures without concern for retribution and re-election, our unbalanced contribution to global famine and other related events will only worsen its severity.
The children will ask how this happened... and then they will demand that their parents be executed, especially banksters, $tockbrokers, lawyers... and the politicians. Indeed! ASS-ASS-IN-NATION IS A POLITICIAN'S ULTIMATE ACHIEVEMENT.
The author states:
"... globalization didn’t just happen, but was rather carefully planned by US and to some extent, European political leaders during the last three decades (take a look at the genesis of GATT, NAFTA and a whole host of other trade deals) as a means of guaranteeing that our countries’ economic elites would continue exert control over grotesquely inordinate amount of the world’s valuable resources and pecuniary wealth."
... and while we're at it, let's take a look at the way they planned and carried out attacks against those who would question such policies! Not only PLANNED, this was, from the Get-Go, a BATTLE against ordinary people to get their way.
Fox News' M.O. is to divide and confuse previously accepted understanding, much like the many hordes of terrorists who now practice what FOX teaches.
The first step in solving a crisis, is knowing there is a crisis.
How did this happens? Simple. It always happens to empires in over-reach at the end. Rome, Holland, Spain, Britain, USSR, USA. Same pattern. Seems to be a law of history. Nothing new. WE just have to live on and through it all. It is called DECLINE!
An excellent article marking today's Hallmark holiday. All fathers in this failed nation should be feeling an extreme sense of shame and guilt. The Fourth Reich is in full bloom, let all fathers and mothers muster the courage to right this ship.
Our children will have to decide whether to forgive us.

Happy Fathers' Day.
How 'bout this: "Honey, we were duped. Manipulated by powerful forces. From the time we were infants we were propagandized by the capitalist media into believing capitalism was wonderful and the necessary twin of democracy. It was part of the American Dream. And we believed it, because the only alternative, so they told us again and again, was the dreaded Communism of the Soviet Union and China, were no one had Freedom.
"So all this happened not because of bad people--although there were plenty of them--but because we lacked the imagination and intellectual skills to see through all the propaganda. All this ecological devastation and economic immiseration is truly the inevitable outcome of a system based on greed, short-sighted obsession with quarterly profits, cost-cutting, exploitation of labor, etc. We had one disaster after another--Love Canal, Bhopal, Exxon Valdeez, Gulf Oil spill, and every time, investigators found negligence due to capitalist 'cost cutting,' which amounts to negligence. And again and again and again, the very people who committed these crimes were not punished but in fact rewarded with huge salaries, stock options, etc. We failed to realize that capitalism rewards sociopathic personalities who have a very limited intelligence--people like Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch. They are clever, cold and calculating, but something fundamental is missing from them.
We were told so many lies that we became confused. And yet who could we blame? The adults were like the blind leading the blind. No one could name the demon that was destroying us, because its name--Capitalism--had been drummed into us as sacrosanct, as the very essence of our 'American Dream.' We became enmeshed in illusions--scientism, capitalism, patriarchalism.
It turned out, in the end, we were not so different from the denizens of former Soviet Union, who we used to pity. If anything, we were more duped than them. They at least knew their media was totally corrupt and rotten to the core--they had their Samizdat, underground press. We were so thoroughly propagandized into the myth of the 'free press' that we didn't realize how many stories were censored, or skewed.
In short, it was a failure of imagination. We failed to realize that another world is not only possible, it is necessary, if our children were to have a future worth living in. We settled. We hunkered down and just kept paying the bills and pursuing our recreational activities, when all around us the madness of capitalism became more and more clear...to all who had eyes to see.
Many of your points are valid, and in many ways on the right track, but even the fascistic right knew their incipient propaganda campaigns, the duping, and the manipulation were INSUFFICIENT.
Even with their growing propaganda machine (and the commercialization of EVERYthing, including elections) they knew they also needed to ATTACK frontally: a battle plan of assault on critical thinking. Fear and intimidation needed to be piled upon the propaganda. Otherwise there well COULD have been a successful Resistance in the US. Like today, the true critics needed to be ELIMINATED: silenced -- or disappeared.
The silent takeover of minds, priorities, values, bank accounts, and bloodstreams would NOT have succeeded without the McCarthy Era and the Silencing of Critical Thinkers nationwide.
We must never forget that this organized assault was necessary for them to succeed. And those of both major parties and institutions who went along with it, and voluntarily joined in the Silencing, ARE RESPONSIBLE for the state we are in. They deprived the nation of 2-3 generations of a critical mass of critical thinkers and alternative visions. How could anyone expect a nation bereft of human and compassionate thought to exorcise its demons?
A sad afterthought: this would not have been possible without the active complicity of a mass political organization designed to marginalize and hush critics and dissent in individuals and organizations such as unions -- even while pretending to be the champions of the common man: the Democratic Party. They basically went along with the McCarthy scare-tactics. The severely weakened union movement today is one result of their work. Controlling the Dems was a genius move for Big Capital. Still wonder why there is no organized Resistance? Clinton. Obama. Need I say more?
If our kids are sufficiently aware to ask "How did this happen", then when they reach the age of 21 they will have the power to change it all.
But I'm not holding my breath.
sorry, The Boomers didn't do it. The MOTU's did it. They just happened to live at the same time as The Boomers. The Boomers are just as helpless as GenX, etc.

The fact that our children aren't asking these questions RIGHT NOW is a direct result of media saturation and wholesale brainwashing.

REVOLUTIONARY (DIRECT) DEMOCRACY
I think your post applies to the older people on this board more than it applies to our youth. We saw the potential of the 60's and there is a point of reference where we can honestly say that something better could have come about. You look at this youth, they have no positive point of reference. The only thing they have ever seen is ruthless empire built on genocide and murder. You look at the 60's and the majority of the kids really didn't understand the full message. 8 out of 10 were in it for the sex and drugs. 1 out of 10 were still clinging to Ward Cleaver, 1 out of 10 actually understood the root problems of greed and empire run amok. I would say the same numbers are not any different today. That 1 out of 10 isn't asking what went wrong because they never saw right. They're asking themselves how we go about the business of destroying this empire.
WELL DUH...... STOP HAVING CHILDREN !!!!!
THen you won't have to answer questions that can only be answered with, "Well we were too horney and selfish to get a vasectomy."
FOLKS:
Beat the drum slowly. Listen to the whispers and not the shouts. Play a mournful tune on your pipe, as 95% of us head for serfdom, if not the Killing Camps of FEMA. Are you on the Red or Blue list? The ones on the Red list are to be murdered before martial law is declared. The ones on the Blue list are to be rounded-up after martial law is declared, then be "re-educated and if not “re-educated” then exterminated as if they were rats.
We've had many good lectures by "talking heads" on CD and other web-blogs and not a single utterance has clearly set forth the solutions. They are:
1. Defund the mega-rich, super-rich, and the plain ol' ordinary rich -- stop spending your money in their stores or buying services from them. Join the campaign to BOYCOTT THE BASTARDS: http://usaaltgov.wetpaint.com/page/BOYCOTT+THE+BASTARDS
2. Read the first few pages of The Dragon's Teeth: http://thedragonsteeth.wetpaint.com/page/THE+DRAGONS+TEETH%2C+pages+1+-+11
3. We cannot accomplish any of the noble goals of which we progressives speak as an unorganized, individualistic, un-linked folks. We know the Republicrats no longer speak for us and are on the side of the Corporate State of America, a child of the New World Order. We need to form, fund and aggressively operate a New Party (as yet unnamed). Join me in organizing it. See: http://usaaltgov.wetpaint.com/

Excellent article. Brave points. Thank you.
And yet we all continue, regardless of generation, to allow our government to fuel the military-industrial economy and let the mainstream media get away with coddling it.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter, and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
~Abraham Lincoln
