Thank you VERY much. I know of many other sites, all good, alternative news, etc., but this site is truly a treasure of TRUTH!
I both put it on my Facebook page & emailed it to "everyone" whom I know.

This is great stuff. What a wonderful man this was. His mind spanned history, experience and philosophy, and his passing is a huge loss to us. His heart was absolutely correct.
I disagree with his final pronouncement that to locate aggression in human nature places the blame on us, the people, rather than on our overlords. This sounds like ordinary communism to me, that in the eternal fight over who gets the power and the stuff and who does the dirty work, better us than them. Marx might be right, in a materialist world. But hey, materialism is a bit two dimensional isn't it?
Speaking as a vast collective, we get the appropriate bosses every time. Human nature rules, and that is equally distributed across the board from Dick Cheney to you and I. The problem is somewhat more complex than we supposed. If you want change you don't change regimes, you change human nature.

This comment is nonsense.
We, the people don't give the cheney's power...they seize it using the wealth of their benefactors to deceive the populace and to dominate and control the debate. All they need to do is manipulate enough of the droolers out there to gain power. Once gained they will use every device possible...including lies, intimidation, torture, murder...ANYTHING to maintain the flow of benefits to themselves and their sponsors.
Michael Parenti gave a lecture in 1993 on the anniversary of the murder of JFK called The Assassination of JFK and the Gangster Nature of the State. Find it and heed before posting more childish drivel.

To those who knew Howard's work, and especially those who had the pleasure of his company, we all share a sense of profound loss today. His passion for peace, his impish ability to make us think and smile at the same time, and his rich personal history and love for the history of struggle in this country, are unmatched. For any of you who are unacquainted with this fine human; now is a good time to start.

My condolences to his family. A man of extreme courage, honesty, intelligence and commitment.
The task of finding someone to fill the void will be difficult, if not impossible.
