Civil Society Comes Together for 'Vigil of Survival'
Take a look at this video from the beautiful “vigil for survival” in Copenhagen on Thursday (Dec. 17th), inspired by the thousands of vigils that this movement hosted around the world last weekend:

Show AllHow much CO2 is coming off those candles?!
Kumbyah just ain't gonna cut it...sorry
And stop double-speaking and -thinking "CHANGE"; which got y'all where you are in Copenhagen TODAY! Try speaking PROGRESS and ACTING IMPROVEMENT!! (e.g., universal electric cars and the solar roof film to generate electricity for them, our homes and JOBS in ALL our HOMELANDS)!!!
Thanks to all the civil society groups who descended on Copenhagen to try to make a difference. It's very difficult to enact positive change in the face of global corporate rule. Take for instance our Canadian prime minister, a shill for the carbon industry. We don't know if he accepts that climate change is in large part human induced. However his silence and inaction speaks volumes.
How very appropriate is a fasting vigil, because population growth plus climate change equals starvation.
Many of the entrenched establishment , even some of the so-called left commentators, do not have the intellectual training or capacity to understand even intuitively the very real physical climate systems that determine our fate.
We all have various forms of mental talents and deficits. I do not recall getting tuition in greenhouse gas physics in my youth. I never saw it in the news before. It is best to treat the honest and older skeptics like people with dyslexia or who have difficulty with specific concepts. They need to go to a special school to retool their modes of understanding. Perhaps differential equations and scientific intuition parts of their brains never developed. Older folks may not have the space for the disruption of climate change to everything that they learned.
Maybe it is not so surprising that the old fogeys can see the climate changes, yet deny the cause. They remember the world from the perspective of their youth 1 or 2 generations ago, when the prospects and material progress for humanity, and possibly there own personal future and survival, seemed unlimited.
It is always up to the young to learn their world as it is now, since they were not around 40 years ago, and freshly assess what will happen to their lives in the future. The people who feel the climate changing, feel the oceans creep onto their lands, suffer the droughts, they know it is real.
So dispite the ditching of targets that might slow the climate beast down, Copenhagen is but the first effort, and may indicate the start of passing of the failed old generation. It certainly indicates their failure. Nice try, but no cookie.
So to all you CEOs, rich shareholders of fossil fuel corporations and owners of the best bits of the planet. You sordid and dirty empire and war planners, liars and deniers. You are all collectively a failure. Hand our planet over, as you are all going to die soon anyway and you cannot take it with you.
For most of humanity, personal and family survival is no longer at stake, it is probably already lost to the climate time bomb. The future belongs to the young, and the crunch time is squeezing so hard right now we do not have time for the old failures to die and relinquish the reins of power. The new generations will probably not get it all right or in time,no human ever does, but they at least have been given the opportunity to grow up with the most important idea of giving climate first priority.
