Obama Nominates Pesticide Executive to Be Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the Office of the US Trade Representative
President Obama's nominee for the Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Islam Siddiqui is currently a vice president at CropLife America, a coalition of the major industrial players in the pesticide industry, including Syngenta, Monsanto, and Dow Chemical. He was previously a lobbyist for CropLife and also served in the US Department of Agriculture under President Clinton and the California Department of Food and Agriculture. A coalition of over 80 environmental, family farm, and consumer advocacy organizations have sent a letter to the Senate Finance Committee urging them to reject his nomination.

Show AllPoor guy, imagine being a Pesticide Representative, did he wish for that since childhood?
Let's hope Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia don't get infected by pesticides in their food. Mancozeb and chlorothalonil have been classified by the EPA as "probable" cancer causing chemicals in humans.
By the way why haven't his daughters taken the swine flu vaccine?
No, they won't. Michelle planted an organic garden at the White House, remember? Besides, if they get sick, they've got the best insurance that tax payers dollars can buy
Obama the turd.
And the band plays on.
thats our man obama showing off his independence from
corporate america. this guy is from the same cesspool as bush
but a lot slicker! if i was standing along a parade route and had the opportunity to shake his hand i know for sure
that i would take off my watch and ring before doing so!
if this would happen during a bush parade i wouldn't
worry because bush has no idea what a watch is for.
Another sickening appointment from Obama. It almost makes me hope that Palin does run for president and win. Almost.
It's actually not bad, he could have appointed the dude to head the Department of Baby Food.
Holy crap! I just saw his picture - that comb over is worth at least two consecutive terms on the jobs!
The Monsanto company is conected with the wealthy of the GOP, and no doubt give orders as they do. It seems to me, Obama is just another puppet as Georgie was, of his father,/ Chaney who still run the show. As for Palin, she has worked the system up the ladder, and intends to be on top. The higher she goes, the more Power, and more control. She has the perfect makings of a dictator, to please her agenda, not the citizens of America. It will be her way-or no way. Bush started the ball rolling into our country becoming one of fasism, not Obama, and Palin intends to hear .-Heil Palin from us.
We thought Bush and Cheney were arrogant, but Obama and Emanuel have a real class act. B/C never pretended to be anything that they were not, and their disdain for everybody but their friends in high places (Saudies, bankers and ceo's with wide-open wallets, and admiring and grateful dictators the world over) was perfectly appropriate and no surprise. We'd never have believed a hint of humility.
Obama's dismissal of his obligations to the millions who trusted him (with their lives) makes me catch my breath every time I read about another appointment from the ranks of the thieves and scoundrels and hear another of his smooth-talking sales pitches about how he's there for us, he feels our pain, he cares. Now that's arrogance!
