The only "agenda" that I see Scahill advocating is reporting on the ubiquitous and belligerent presence of the US military in the Middle East. I hardly think that what Scahill is doing could accurately be termed irrational reporting. The US, as Scahill correctly notes, does not belong in the Middle East-period.
Thank God for Lou Dobbs! I too, like millions of Americans, am incensed about the poppies growing in Afghanistan. In fact, after our neighborhood bakesale to try to help pay for Mary Lou Kresniak's brain surgery I am headed straight to my cousin's cell phone to text a message to the president to get him to stop those filthy Afghans from growing any more poppies. No wonder they keep getting in the way of our drones! Can't they have their weddings and family dinners someplace else?
And what ever happened to all the nice knitting and crocheting they used to do? Why, where would my poor Grandma Grubner have been if they didn't keep up the supply of afghan's at Christmas?
Meanwhile the Shitlock's lost a second son to this war... well they had three anyway, I guess everyone has to make sacrifices. Why look at the sacrifice Mr. Obama is making, he's throwing his whole presidency away just to get rid of those damn poppies!!! But excuse me, I gotta take another Oxy, my corns are killing me.

I kept waiting in vain for Dobbs to ask Boot when he is going to join the army, seeing how eager he is in escalating the occupation in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, as is all so common with chickenhawks like Max Boot, they are very quick in beating the war drums as long as they themselves are in no danger in being blown up by an IED.
If there is one 'society' on the face of the planet that cannot tolerate 'democracy'---it is the Islamic .
There is NO Islamic Democracy simply because Islam does not 'allow for democracy'---it is designed to be controlled by the Caliphate--usually one many and his numerous 'sons' by several 'wives' and patterned after the medieval system that it originated from, and has changed little. The Saudi Kingdom is one excellent example, and ironically the USA kisses the Saudi Arabia monarchy 'buttocks' with every chance. There seems to be 'no urgent need' to bring 'democracy' to them----why?
To have made the ultimate sacrifice for Democracy, anywhere but especially anywhere in Islam's control, is typical of the USA Plutocratic Oligarchy and its need to expand its control. They simply over estimated their own power, and under estimated the power of Islam to control 'its' realm.
The 'Taliban"' is simply another 'PO'---with Islamic foundations, and evidence is coming in that the USA is paying the ultimate 'buttocks kissing' i.e. cash payments in bribes to keep the Taliban from making too many wins. And another irony of ironies is that the CIA appears to have been paying the brother of Karzai 'big bucks' while he is an 'Opium King Pin'---while at the same time the USA is spending billions to keep---'heroin out of the hands of little kids on the streets back in the states'---in a never ending war on drugs. "Just say no"-----remember?
It really is not much more than a 'dog and pony show'---and Americans just love 'dog and pony shows'....
But that is the problem with the Plutocratic Oligarchy, it requires the participants to be short sighted and greedy, which ultimately leads to its failures. The reality is that the failures are never attributed to the true source, the 'PO', they are instead attributed to 'outside forces', such as the ones who made the excuses for my generation's fiasco Vietnam. That one if I 'remember' was to keep 'communism from taking hold', and all those 'domino's would fall' if that happened---so '60k died' 'for that one'.
And now: the USA owes 'communist China' more than a trillion dollars----maybe the USA should quit playing 'dominoes'--they really are 'failures' at it'
As long as the Plutocratic Oligarchy is in control, the USA will continue to flounder in its own failures---until of course time runs out. When that happens, there will be no turning back.
The USA will have simply filled its 'role' in the 'big dog and pony show' and be remembered by history as a 'terrible example'. A China will 'own' the 'east coast' ----ha ha ha ha.

When progressives get air time, the actions of the true world leaders will go back undercover, and there will be, once again, stories that make no sense, like 9-11, Oklahoma city, the USS Liberty, Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, the USS Maine, etc..
