Norman Solomon,
Institute for Public Accuracy, Exec. Dir., discusses Afghanistan,
including the recent election, the war and U.S. policy towards the
country.
Norman Solomon handled all the questions very well.
For example, mentioning that Al Qaeda moved out of Afghanistan and into Pakistan (years ago), also mentioning that Al Qaeda has a global jihad agenda, while the Taliban
are not devoted to global jihad.
Mr.Solomon also handled the somewhat hypocritical policies of President Obama in militaristic vs. humanitarian aid policies very skillfully.
I liked his books because they explain so many ways that our citizens are tricked into supporting and accepting our many unnecessary wars.

I had a chance to hear him on Democracy Now! and he's so incredibly articulate that it's hard to dismiss any of the points he makes - even if they weren't true and valid. Saying that Afganis are worse off now than before and pointing out the mess that the US has made over there was the tip of the iceberg. We need more like him to expose the monster for what it is.
