Swanson: Obama's fatal mistake was he started with a compromise with insurance companies
Just before the congressional recess Progressive Democrats have come
out with a statement that they will not vote for a bill unless it
contains a robust public option. With the White House backing down on a

Show AllWhat's wrong with this guy? He talked a good game. He is charismatic, good looking, well spoken. He could do anything he wanted.
His favorite word seems to be compromise. Has he ever heard of Harry Truman or Lyndon Johnson or MLK?
Got Guts Obama?
You can eliminate LBJ at the very least, the man who lied us all the way into the Vietnam War, the man who, like George Wanker Bush, smelled Glory only to find out it smelled like shit.
The public option hasn't been dropped yet. We need to make noise or even this less-than-great part of "reform" will be dropped.

"They enslave their children's children who make compromise with sin."
-------James Russell Lowell
If the word 'sin' ever deserved to be applied it is to these filthy rich but still greedy Bible thumping Republicans.
One of these days John-with-the-brown-face will get so stoned he will fall down on camera.
REFORM HEALTHCARE or NO DEAL!
Betrayal. Utter and absolute betrayal in the name of popularity with the Republicans, the so-called "Blue Dog" Democrats (traitors!), Big Business, Insurance, Big Pharma, etc., etc., etc.
Nothing less than that.
Thoroughly enraged and disgusted.
If the votes are not in the Senate, the votes are not in the Senate...it has nothing to do with the President. But those Democratic Senators are the ones betraying the trust that we Americans placed on them when we voted them in. There are enough Democrates in the Senate to pass this bill without compromising its core. One question, are we paying for this Senators excellent health care benefits with our taxes? If my children and I cannot have affordable insurance I certainly do not want to pay to cover these clown's health insurance benefits either, if they will not make the effort to have us all covered.
