Isn't our current reality turning into some sort of real life science fiction movie? Isn't this just "Robocop" on a global level? In that movie wasn't it the corporations taking up slack for law enforcement because budget cuts had made it harder and harder for the police to do their jobs with limited resources? It went from a cyborg (which our troops often look like in full gear with radios, cameras, nightvision) to a complete robot (unmanned drone?) to do the work as a private corporation for profit.
I agree with Siouxrose's post and have been saying for a considerable amount of time that what the GWoT is really about is "full spectrum dominance", as Pepe Escobar and possibly others refer to it, or "global dominance", as Daniel Estulin and surely others refer to the (same) agenda; and it's not only with the GWoT that we can see that this is indeed the agenda (intended to be secret, but that's okay, that it's not remained secret, for militarisation has been on the rise and it includes keeping "civil unrest" under control, anyway). Well, we can see the agenda's many historical dots, and these include the 1999 war on Kosovo, Yugoslavia, Serbia, which I believe Pepe Escobar also says in his video presentation for TheRealNews.com and entitled "Full spectrum dominance", certainly for the Youtube copy anyway. But the dots stretch back much further, to at least the middle of the 20th century as far as the U.S. ruling "elites" are considered; or further back when considering Britain's prior history at the same sort of agenda.
It also includes eliminating the middle economic class and creating many more "serfs". The agenda includes much and is global in scope, involving many "key" people in this ruling "elites" agenda for humanity.
I just made a post consisting of considerable enough excerpt from the following review, which is not only about the group named in the title of the book being reviewed, but also the CFR (the one in the USA) and the TC, Trilateral Commission. These [are] the real ruling "elites" and, "man", do they include a lot of people citizens of the USA will definitely recognise; but they also include ruling "elites" in Europe and Asia, certainly the TC does anyway.

GW: Given today's lead article about the dynamic increase in global spending on arms during a time of a beginning global Depression one realizes that the GWOT has been THE "successful" marketing device/slogan of all time. Fear sells, and it's selling big. Too bad what it buys is destruction, rather than anything remotely constructive or life-sustaining. This is a Faustian bargain if ever there was one, and we are all standing by to experience the fall-out.
Excellent interview...as usual Jeremy Schahill is spot on!! My comment though about Part I when asked if he thinks the American public know how much of their tax dollars is being shelled out to pay for private (for-profit) security contractors...he responded no. I would like to add....that even if you told each American this news....they wouldn't do a DAMN thing about it, I bet!
I just stood at a "town hall" event to tell my Congressman to support HR676 and alerted several organizations to try to spread the word to their email lists and I got very very few responses and the turnout was pitiful! If people don't care about getting reasonable health care services for their own tax dollars then I don't know what people want!!! I think the apathy is just toooooo deep in American society.
