AMERICAN MASTERS Pete Seeger: The Power of Song aired February 27 on PBS (check local listings). For more information, visit http://www.pbs.org/americanmasters
It's time to get Pete Seeger back to the National Mall, and everybody sing along!
(to the chorus of This Land is Your Land)
These are the good wars, Obama's good wars
Those dead Af-Pakis, they had it coming
And if Iran won't do like we tell them...
These wars were made for you and me!

A great documentary, and follows him right up to his protests against the Bush Iraq-bacle.
One of the few items they use during PBS fundrives here in the DC area that actually has appeal.
See it!

Happy Birthday Pete. I listen to you as I walk my dogs. It is impossible to hear you and not 1) sing, 2) smile, 3) cry, 4) feel better. Thank you for your soul.

Thanks Pete!
All the ninety year olds I know (and there have been quite a few through my work)are ready for just about anything. They've made peace with the failings of the body, as uneasy as it can be, and live in something of a prayerful state regardless of their spiritual background and practice or lack of it. Something unique and eye opening about that adult developmental stage: much to learn from ninety, much to still sing about... go into the decade with your joy intact. We'll all be listening.
