Some Thoughts About The True Miracle in The Andes. Exactly 35 years ago this Saturday, an horrific and extraordinary chain of events was set in motion high in the Andes above Chile. A small commuter plane carrying 45 people crashed on Friday the 13th of October 1972. For the next two months, a group of survivors of the crash; most of whom were the young members of a Uruguayan rugby team called the "Old Christians," kept themselves alive against all laws of nature, physics, and reason.

Exactly 35 years ago this Saturday, an horrific and extraordinary chain of events was set in motion high in the Andes above Chile. A small commuter plane carrying 45 people crashed on Friday the 13th of October 1972. For the next two months, a group of survivors of the crash; most of whom were the young members of a Uruguayan rugby team called the "Old Christians," kept themselves alive against all laws of nature, physics, and reason.
