'Baby Doc's Millions' and Where to Send Them

Jean-Claude Duvalier has lived a strange and miserable life. Reportedly a quiet sort of boy, he was appointed by his father in 1971 as President of Haiti at the age of 19. As "Baby Doc" grew into the mindset of a dictator, the corruption and violence of life in Haiti increased. In the mid-1980s, the US Commerce Department reported that 64 percent of U.S. funds sent to Haiti were misused. The estimated "kill tally" of the Duvalier era is 30,000-50,000.
