  WASHINGTON - November 25 - Progressive Readers Paradise Features Signed Books By Begala, Carville, Brock, Ivins, Vidal, Huffington, Mailer, Alterman, Maher, Franken and Many More

Whether you're looking for the perfect gift, or just interested in adding to your own library, People For the American Way's celebrity eBay auction is a goldmine for progressive readers and collectors. The list of political must-reads includes autographed copies of Al Franken's "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right," Eric Alterman's "What Liberal Media?" and Molly Ivins' "Bushwhacked."

Starting Sunday, November30th, two complete collections of signed books will be auctioned as sets, while additional copies of some books will be available singly, most autographed by the authors. The list continues to grow, but already included are Arianna Huffington's "Pigs at the Trough," Jim Hightower's "Thieves in High Places," Bill Maher's "When You Ride Alone, You Ride With Bin Laden" and a copy of "Why Freedom Matters," the collection of essays and writings on freedom that accompanied Norman Lear's original copy of the Declaration of Independence as it toured the nation.

The auction will offer other books of interest, including an autographed out-of-print book of songs by pioneering musical satirist Tom Lehrer; a collection of lyrics autographed by Lou Reed; a new hardcover edition of "Freaky Friday" autographed by Mary Rodgers; a twice-autographed copy of Bret Easton Ellis' "Glamorama," and an autographed copy of Jane Fonda's "Cooking for Healthy Living."

The books join a stupendous list of more than 200 items on the block - celebrity memorabilia, music, fine art, and offbeat items ranging from a pair of Bette Midler's loafers to Elton John's sunglasses. Proceeds will benefit People For the American Way, a national organization dedicated to free speech, civil rights and tolerance.
