Physicians for a National Health Program
Physicians for a National Health Program is a single issue organization advocating a universal, comprehensive single-payer national health program. PNHP has more than 15,000 members and chapters across the United States.
Physicians for Human Rights
PHR was founded in 1986 on the idea that health professionals, with
their specialized skills, ethical duties, and credible voices, are
uniquely positioned to investigate the health consequences of human
rights violations and work to stop them. PHR mobilizes health
professionals to advance health, dignity, and justice and promotes the
right to health for all.
Population Action International (PAI)
Population Action International (PAI) is an independent policy advocacy group
working to strengthen political and financial support worldwide for population
programs grounded in individual rights. Founded in 1965, PAI is a private,
non-profit group and accepts no government funds.
Project On Government Oversight (POGO)
The Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is an independent nonprofit that investigates and exposes corruption and other misconduct in order to achieve a more effective, accountable, open and honest federal government.
Public Campaign is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to
sweeping campaign reform that aims to dramatically reduce the role of
big special interest money in American politics. Public Campaign is
laying the foundation for reform by working with a broad range of
organizations, including local community groups, around the country
that are fighting for change and national organizations whose members
are not fairly represented under the current campaign finance system.
Together we are building a network of national and state-based efforts
to create a powerful national force for federal and state campaign
Refugees International is a Washington, D.C.-based organization that
advocates to end refugee crises, advocates for lifesaving assistance and
protection for displaced people, and promotes solutions to displacement
crises. Since November 2006, the organization
has conducted seven missions to the Middle East to identify the needs
of Iraqi refugees and internally displaced people in Iraq. After
ongoing pressure from Refugees International, the U.S. State Department
increased its assistance for Iraqi refugees from $43 million in 2006 to
$398 million in 2008.
School of The Americas Watch
SOA Watch is an independent organization that seeks to close the US
Army School of the Americas, under whatever name it is called, through
vigils and fasts, demonstrations and nonviolent protest, as well as
media and legislative work.
Servicemembers Legal Defense Network
Servicemembers Legal Defense Network is a non-partisan, non-profit,
legal services, watchdog and policy organization dedicated to ending
discrimination against and harassment of military personnel affected by
"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT).
The Sunlight Foundation was co-founded in 2006 by Washington, DC businessman and lawyer Michael Klein and longtime Washington public interest advocate Ellen Miller
with the non-partisan mission of using the revolutionary power of the
Internet to make information about Congress and the federal government
more meaningfully accessible to citizens.
U.S. PIRG, the federation of state Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs), stands up to powerful special interests on behalf of the American public, working to win concrete results for our health and our well-being. With a strong network of researchers, advocates, organizers and students in state capitols across the country, we take on the special interests on issues, such as product safety,political corruption, prescription drugs and voting rights,where these interests stand in the way of reform and progress.

information to policymakers, journalists, organizations, advocates, and

Children & Nature Network (C&NN) was created to encourage and
support the people and organizations working to reconnect children with
nature. C&NN provides access to the latest news and research in the
field and a peer-to-peer network of researchers and individuals,
educators and organizations dedicated to children's health and
National Network Opposing the Militarization of Youth (NNOMY)
NNOMY is a national networking body created in 2004 to unite
national, regional and local organizations to oppose the growing intrusion of
the military in young people's lives. NNOMY is network that seeks to
bring to the forefront the importance and value of counter-recruitment
organizing. It is not intended to function as an independent national
organization, but rather as a coalition that strengthens the work of

The Conservation System Alliance is a coalition of eighty conservation, historic preservation, faith-based, recreation, business, education and place-based friends groups representing millions of Americans nationwide. The Conservation System Alliance aims to protect, restore and expand the National Landscape Conservation System by making it permanent, well-funded, well-managed, and inclusive of the best natural and cultural resources under the Bureau of Land Management's care.
