Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR)

FAIR, the national media watch group, has been offering well-documented
criticism of media bias and censorship since 1986. We work to
invigorate the First Amendment by advocating for greater diversity in
the press and by scrutinizing media practices that marginalize public
interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints.

1Sky

1Sky is a collaborative national campaign for bold climate policy. 1Sky’s allies include 350 organizations from all sectors of society and more than 130,000 committed climate advocates who support policies in line with the 1Sky policy platform. 1Sky also has 25 organizers in 20 states, and more than 150 Congressional districts covered by volunteer Climate Precinct Captains.

Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA)

Founded
in 1988 by Barbara Lubin and Howard Levine, the Middle East Children's Alliance is a Berkeley-based non-profit humanitarian aid
organization that has delivered more than $10 million in food, medicine and
medical supplies to children in the West Bank and Gaza,
Iraq and Lebanon.  MECA also provides financial assistance to
community groups working with children in the Palestine/Israel.

War Resisters League (WRL)

The United States’ oldest secular pacifist organization, the War
Resisters League has been resisting war at home and war abroad since
1923. Our work for nonviolent revolution has spanned decades and has
been shaped by the new visions and strategies of each generation’s
peacemakers.

Center for Public Integrity (CPI)

The Center for Public Integrity is a nonprofit organization dedicated
to producing original, responsible investigative journalism on issues
of public concern. The Center is non-partisan and non-advocacy. We are
committed to transparent and comprehensive reporting both in the United
States and around the world.

Cornucopia Institute

The Cornucopia
Institute,
a Wisconsin-based nonprofit farm policy research
group, is
dedicated to the fight
for economic justice for the family-scale farming community.  Their Organic
Integrity Project acts as a corporate and
governmental watchdog assuring that no compromises to the credibility of
organic farming methods and the food it produces are made in the pursuit
of

Breakthrough Institute

The Breakthrough Institute is a small think tank with big ideas.
Breakthrough is committed to creating a new progressive politics, one
that is large, aspirational, and asset-based. We believe that any
effective politics must speak to core needs and values, not issues and
interests, and we thus situate ourselves at the intersection of
politics, policy, philosophy, and the social sciences.

Center for Community Change

The Center for Community Change strengthens, connects and mobilizes
grassroots groups to enhance their leadership, voice and power.  We
believe that vibrant community-based organizations, led by the people
most affected by social and economic injustice, are key to putting an
end to the failed "on your own" mentality of the right and building a
new politics based on community values.

Center for Media and Democracy

The Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) is a non-profit investigative reporting group. Our reporting and analysis focus on exposing corporate spin and government propaganda. We publish PRWatchSourceWatch, and BanksterUSA. Our newest major investigation is available at ALECexposed.org.

Dēmos

A multi-issue national organization, Demos combines research, policy development, and advocacy to influence public debates and catalyze change. We publish books, reports, and briefing papers that illuminate critical problems and advance innovative solutions; work at both the national and state level with advocates and policymakers to promote reforms; help to build the capacity and skills of key progressive constituencies; project our values into the media by promoting Demos Fellows and staff in print, broadcast, and Internet venues; and host public events that showcase new ideas and leading progressive voices.

Earth Policy Institute

As a small organization with a global
mission, the Earth Policy Institute has designed a unique information
dissemination model, capitalizing on the synergy between a worldwide
network of book publishers, the communications media, and the Internet.
Through this distribution network, countless individuals and
organizations have become aware of the environmental issues facing the
world and many have been inspired to take action.

Economic Policy Institute

The Economic Policy Institute, a nonprofit Washington D.C. think tank,
was created in 1986 to broaden the discussion about economic policy to
include the interests of low- and middle-income workers. Today, with
global competition expanding, wage inequality rising, and the methods
and nature of work changing in fundamental ways, it is as crucial as
ever that people who work for a living have a voice in the economic
discourse.

Food First

The purpose of the Institute for Food and Development Policy - Food First - is to eliminate the injustices that cause hunger. Food First supports a "bottom-up" approach to solving world hunger, asserting the ability of all countries to feed their own people if they focus on agriculture for subsistence rather than for export.

Foreign Policy In Focus

FPIF provides timely analysis of U.S. foreign policy and international
affairs and recommends policy alternatives. We believe U.S. security
and world stability are best advanced through a commitment to peace,
justice and environmental protection as well as economic, political,
and social rights. We advocate that diplomatic solutions, global
cooperation, and grassroots participation guide foreign policy.

Institute for Policy Studies

Institute for Policy Studies turns Ideas into Action for Peace, Justice and the Environment. We strengthen social movements with independent research, visionary thinking, and links to the grassroots, scholars and elected officials. I.F. Stone once called IPS "the think tank for the rest of us." Since 1963, we have empowered people to build healthy and democratic societies in communities, the US, and the world. Oakland Institute

The Oakland Institute is a policy think tank whose mission is to
increase public participation and promote fair debate on critical
social, economic and environmental issues in both national and
international forums.

Alliance for Climate Protection

The Alliance for Climate Protection is undertaking an unprecedented mass persuasion exercise based on scientific facts. Through a new combination of non-partisan alliances with Americans from all walks of life and innovative and far-reaching communication techniques the Alliance will focus on presenting the facts about climate change and its solutions to the general public in an accurate, clear and compelling manner.

Apollo Alliance

The Apollo Alliance is a coalition of business, labor, environmental,
and community leaders working to catalyze a clean energy revolution in
America to reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil, cut the
carbon emissions that are destabilizing our climate, and expand
opportunities for American businesses and workers.

Institute for Local Self-Reliance

The Institute’s mission is to provide innovative strategies, working
models and timely information to support environmentally sound and
equitable community development. To this end, ILSR works with citizens,
activists, policymakers and entrepreneurs to design systems, policies
and enterprises that meet local or regional needs; to maximize human,
material, natural and financial resources; and to ensure that the
benefits of these systems and resources accrue to all local citizens.

Netroots Nation

Netroots Nation amplifies progressive voices by providing an online and in-person campus for exchanging ideas and learning how to be more effective in using technology to influence the public debate. Within that campus, we strengthen community, inspire action and serve as an incubator for progressive ideas that challenge the status quo and ultimately affect change in the public sphere.
