WASHINGTON - March 12 - News Advisory:

Press Conference
Social Security Reform:
A Look at the Administrative Costs of Individual Accounts
9 a.m., Tuesday, March 16
Russell Senate Office Building, Room 332
Washington, D.C.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities will hold a press conference on Tuesday, March 16, at 9 a.m., in Room 332 of the Russell Senate Office Building. The Center will release a new study of privately managed individual retirement accounts in the United Kingdom.

Speakers:
- Peter Orszag, President, Sebago Associates, Inc.
- Robert Reischauer, Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution
- C. Eugene Steuerle, Senior Fellow, Urban Institute

Moderated by:
- Robert Greenstein, Executive Director, CBPP

This report is being released as Congress debates options for Social Security reform in the United States, including proposals to establish individual retirement accounts as part of the Social Security system. "Administrative Costs in Individual Accounts in the United Kingdom," presents surprising findings, based on new data, on the degree to which administrative costs in the UK's privately managed individual accounts reduce the retirement income the accounts can provide.
