		Congress Approaches 100th Vote On Reproductive Choice; NARAL Kicks Off Online Countdown with New Website Section

		WASHINGTON - September 18 - NARAL's award winning website today unveiled a new section featuring a countdown to the Congress's 100th vote on reproductive choice. The new special section of NARAL Online at http://www.naral.org allows site visitors to track Congressional action on choice and family planning issues as votes occur. Visitors also learn more about the effect of the legislation passed by the 105th Congress. NARAL Online, a comprehensive abortion and reproductive health site on the World Wide Web, was launched in April 1996. With nearly 70,000 hits per month, the site has established itself as an outstanding resource for pro-choice activists, public policy experts, NARAL members, students and journalists seeking information about reproductive health issues. As we count down to the 100th vote, site visitors will be able to obtain: An up-to-the-minute tally of anti-choice, anti-family planning votes and a comprehensive look at Congressional activity since abortion opponents took over in January of 1995; Quotes from abortion opponents in the 105th Congress- "In Their Own Words"; Information on the women who have been directly affected by the aggressive assault on reproductive choice; Access to an expanded "Contact Congress" section of the site, which now makes it easier for site visitors to instantly fax or E-mail Members of Congress; and NARAL membership information, including information on giving a NARAL membership as a gift. "NARAL Online is an important component of our grassroots communications efforts to educate the public about the threat to reproductive choice," said NARAL President Kate Michelman. "We hope this new feature will encourage pro-choice Americans to join the fight to protect choice now and in the new millennium."
