Washington, D.C.

Details:
A lawsuit against the U.S. Government challenging the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) as being unconstitutionally adopted will be filed in a U.S. District Court on Monday, July 13.

A news briefing will take place at the National Press Club, 529 14th St., N.W., Washington, D.C. at 1 p.m. in the First Amendment Room (13th Floor).

The court case is being filed by the United Steelworkers of America (USWA) and the Made in the USA Foundation. "NAFTA is a betrayal of American workers," states George Becker, USWA president, "and because NAFTA is a treaty that never received the constitutionally-required two-third's vote in the U.S. Senate, we have no recourse but to now seek a judicial review in the federal courts."

The USWA represents 750,000 industrial workers with headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pa. Made in the USA Foundation is based in Washington, D.C.
