| Anti-War Forces Announce National Day of Mass Protests, Saturday, December 19 Against Bombing of Iraq | ||||
| WASHINGTON
- December 17 - Gathering at 12 Noon on 34th Street and 7th Avenue in New York City
A coalition of anti-war, anti-sanctions and peace groups have announced a national day of simultaneous actions against the bombing of Iraq. There will be a mass march in New York City on Saturday, December 18, at 12 noon gathering from 34th Street and 7th Avenue and in San Francisco at noon at 24th and Market Streets. The sponsoring organizations are: The International Action Center; Fellowship of Reconciliation; Pax Christi, Islamic Circle of North America; Committee in Support of the Iraqi People; War Resisters League; Islamic Public Affairs Council; Iraqi American Cultural Society; Queers for Racial and Economic Justice; Metro NY Peace Action; International Socialist Organization; Catholic Worker; Refuse and Resist; Workfairness and Workers World Party. Since the start of the bombing there have been demonstrations in cities all over the United States, from New York, San Francisco, Washington, Berkley, Rochester, San Jose, Salt Lake City, Columbus, Tucson, Atlanta, Ann Arbor, Houston, Seattle, Denver, New Haven, Philadelphia, Portland, Austin, Minneapolis, Boston, Baltimore, to Los Angeles and a number of other cities. --30-- |
