LOS ANGELES - June 22 - Robert Greenwald, director of groundbreaking documentary Rethink Afghanistan, is calling for General McChrystal’s resignation after a Rolling Stone article revealed deep disrespect among General McChrystal and his staff for President Obama and his advisors. This latest revelation of insubordinate behavior is part of a continuing pattern with McChrystal, who earlier disrespected the Office of the President by publicly airing his recommendations to increase troops before last year's Afghanistan policy review was completed.

Greenwald’s Brave New Foundation is moving a petition asking concerned Americans to join in the call for the resignation of McChrystal, citing that McChrystal’s apology is not enough.

McChrystal has since been summoned to Washington from Afghanistan to explain his derisive comments. In the Rolling Stone article, McChrystal and his aides refer to National Security Advisor Jim Jones as a "clown," Vice President Joe Biden as "Bite me," and calling Obama’s administration “wimps in the White House.”
