Security Planning and Management in Combat Zones Should Not Be Left To Contractors

WASHINGTON - June 18 - “Any operations that are critical to the success of the U.S. government’s mission in a combat zone must be controlled by government personnel,” stated Danielle Brian, POGO’s Executive Director.

Ms. Brian will testify, Friday June 18, 2010, before the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan concerning, “Are Private Security Contractors Performing Inherently Governmental Functions?”

“The planning and management of security functions in combat zones are inherently governmental functions.”

Ms. Brian's testimony can be found here.
