Groups Praise Defense and State Departments for Releasing Nuclear Posture Review

WASHINGTON - May 4 - Today, CREW and other nonprofit groups sent a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Under Secretary of State Ellen Tauscher, lauding the government for its decision to publish the Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) Report and disclose the size of the U.S.’s nuclear stockpile. Transparency in matters of nuclear security is essential to ensuring a clear and informed debate, and both the NPR and the nuclear stockpile information are vital keys to such deliberation.
