LOS ANGELES - April 30 - Following the signing of S.B. 1070 in Arizona, one of the most anti-immigrant laws in the country, Latinos have chosen to mobilize online in numbers never before witnessed. Within 24 hours of launching the "Do I Look Illegal" campaign, thousands responded on the www.facebook.com/cuentame page, placing it in the top five Latino activist sites on Facebook. The idea behind the "Do I Look Illegal" campaign is to highlight how the Arizona law essentially legalizes the discrimination and persecution of the Latino community through racial profiling.

Thousands of social network activists have purchased the "Do I Look Illegal" T-shirts and are spreading the message of the campaign online via status updates, pictures, and other social media tools.  Cuéntame continues to plan actions in Arizona and Los Angeles with on-the-ground organizations to protest S.B. 1070.

Cuéntame has also decided to join the national boycott efforts of Arizona and will be asking many of its followers to cancel travel plans and business in Arizona.
