Afghanistan “Awash with US Cash and US Blood”
WASHINGTON - February 26 - Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today made the following statement about the ongoing war in Afghanistan:
“The
Washington Post reports that nearly one billion dollars per year in
cash, suspected to include U.S. aid, opium receipts or both, is moving
from Afghanistan to Dubai, where friends and family of Afghanistan’s
President Karzai have multimillion dollar villas.
“Dubai
real estate deals and a number of crooked enterprises connected to the
Karzai family have created crony capitalism in a country awash with
U.S. cash and U.S. blood.
“Nearly
1000 U.S. soldiers have died. And for what? Hundreds of billions spent.
And for what? To make Afghanistan safe for crooks, drug dealers and
crony capitalism?
“Next
Thursday, I will bring a privileged resolution to this House so that
Congress can claim our constitutional right to end this war and to
bring our troops home. Please support the resolution.”
Kucinich
will introduce the resolution on Thursday, March 4, 2010. It is
expected that the resolution will be taken up for consideration on the
following Wednesday, March 10, 2010 and that the debate will be subject
to a rule providing for three hours of debate.

Show AllWar is wrong, everytime. The truly Honorable man, Dennis Kucinich understands this. Too bad the other members of our representational government don't understand this. We must continue the mantra, war is wrong everytime.
Thank you Dennis Kucinich. I wish you success. Whenever anyone says that we have a do nothing congress I tell them about your hard work to have the truth heard and to give us change we can believe in.
I support a Dennis Kucinich ~ Ron Paul, presidential ticket in 2012. I don't care which one for which office, just so the two are together. Let's make history and straighten out this mess at the same time!
The reason we had eight years of Bush/Cheney is because Americans can't be bothered to do any research before voting for their leaders. There is so much information available on the Internet that there is no excuse for uniformed voters. Alan, Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul have little in common beyond being against the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I lost respect for Dennis Kucinich's judgement when he said he would consider running on a ticket with Ron Paul. Are you even aware of Ron Paul's extensive racist writings? This man is a far right wing politician whose social views are atrocious. That is when you can even pin him down on them. The man is not progressive, I think you know that and are one those Paulbots who try to confuse the issue of who he really is by mentioning him in the same breath as Dennis Kucinich. I like Dennis, but he doesn't always use the best judgement.
Thank you Congressman- soon to be president- or vp,,,whatever.
And I would bet that the USGS research that has found for those AfghanKarzai/ US cronies plenty of oil and gas...oh, and emeralds, is being dispersed as we speak. A trillion dollars worth of resources is a lot of booty to divvy up between the World Bank, US and foreign investors and mr karzais' dubai estates...how disgusting.
I want to thank the parents and spouses of those dead soldiers for sacrificing their family for this lame excuse of corporate greed. GOD WILL GET THOSE BASTARDS...and maybe the rising seas will drown Dubious.
Kucinich has no grasp of the plot. And he is the best of the Americans! The USA is stooped so low.
In the greater scheme of truth, what matters is Afghanistan is awash with Afghani blood.
As for American blood, until not only such as Kucinich sees this but also the majority of Americans do, there will of course be more American blood. And more and more and more. It is only right, for Americans must pay for the actions of the USA. And this blood will be extracted from Americans, come what may.
But Americans are also going to have to pay money for the disproportionate suffering of the Afghans. The USA law is no excuse.
The grim reaper and the spectre of poverty are coming to get American children and it is the fault of their parents. Not only will others kill them but Americans will starve and kill them.
Both history and current events show this clearly.
What a mess!
James,
Dennis has already demonstrated time and again that he is a man of peace and has not lost sight of the plight of the Afghanis, which he will no doubt address on March 4. He is probably just trying to appeal to average Americans who are not already on the anti-war page.
We all remember the early presidential debates and how "impartial" moderators zeroed in on the three who had raised the most money four weeks into the campaign and pretty much ignored the rest -- especially Dennis Kucinich.
I called his office recently to suggest that he consider (IF he does want to run again) starting to raise money now so that he'd have a big bank balance in either 2012 or 2016.
He gets it right not just on matters of war and peace but on universal health care and all the other issues that affect us all, especially the poor, and speaks out on them in our behalf.
Thank you, Dennis!
Bring America Back !!!!
****This March 4 Resolution proves that Kucinich is
diametrically opposed to all major issues of Team Obama !
****Rep Kucinich needs to declare himself NOW as candidate for President, next election, give us 3 full years to back his positions, and point up the Vast differences, and the fact that Kucinich should've been Elected in the first place.
***What the good Dennis will need is a very attractive
Female Vice Presidential running mate==in order to break
the Glass ceiling once and for all !! Otherwise, a certain
dumbbunny named Clinton will try to jump in there again !
DENNIS KUCINICH FOR PRESIDENT....WAKE UP AMERICA !!!!
Even though there are plenty of qualified women who could do the job, It's offensive that one of you requests a 'very attractive female'. That's as chauvinist and dickinyourpants attitude as a Palin wonk. Who the frack cares what sex they are or who they do it with? We needs brains and right thinking for god's sake. If people would get their heads out of their ass and stop talking about bull shit, something might be accomplished. STFU about the damn glass ceiling...what an ignorant soundbite. Anyone hear of the other world leaders that are women? Stop being so self involved about the USA. Start talking about the issues instead of looks and charisma. Haven't we learned the charisma lesson?????
Someone seriously needs to go read Paul's positions. Wiki has a good bit and you can read his platform there too.
Where are Ron Paul's extensive racist writings Johngary66? Do you have a link? Ron Paul is rascist like a Martin Luther King.
You provide misinformation, at the cost of peace and rationality.
People, find out about Ron Paul on your own.
He's a constitutionalist, as is Dennis Kucinich.
Racism talk is for your silly TV. We're talking about bombing nations, you fool. Nations of brown-skinned children. How much more racist does our federal government need be?
Okay Burgandywhatever: Here's a quote to start you off. "Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the ‘criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal. — Ron Paul" I'm not going to do your research for you. Google Ron Paul on race. During the nineties he wrote a whole series of racist papers. Their not hard to find if you want too. Oh he's great on religion too. So long as your Christian. And sorry, sister but their is nothing progressive about smaller government. It's pure right wing Republican and teabagger dogma. Troll for Ron Paul all you want, just leave Dennis Kucinich out of it. Your just hoping to attract so called progressives who don't do their homework.
Burgundyamaranth..nice name...and yes, where are these so called writings.?? I suspect a poop in the pile here.
Actually, going to www.ontheissues.org might be a good place to start. Ron Paul does have a bit of the vacilatorness that could prove dupable like Obummer if in office. The flipfloppers are the scariest and he might also be. Worth looking at to see what you believe as his stance on all the issues.
Come on Stonepig, "a bit of vacilatorness" try evasive, better yet, slippery as fresh shit. He wrote a series of "newsletters" going back to 1978. They were all under his name but he claims different people wrote some of the articles. How many people would publish something they don't agree with under their name? "A reporter at the New Republic, James Kirchick, has done the legwork and discovered that Ron Paul has over the years expressed highly racist views, has attacked gays, and he also showed an "obsession" with Jews and Israel... not in a positive way." That was being kind. My problem here is people who hear one or two things they like from a politician and they jump on their bandwagon. It is so easy to do research on the Internet that there is no excuse for this except laziness. Laziness that we all pay for with politicians like Bush/Cheney and now Obama being elected.
Go Dennis. Glad someone is working for the people of this country.
Rep.Dennis Kucinich needs to leave the Democratic Party and become Independent.
He needs to stop propping up the Democratic Party--they are not worthy!
