WASHINGTON - February 11 - Online voting has opened in a contest to determine the content of a billboard that will hold Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) accountable for attempting to roll back the Clean Air Act.

The contest, hosted at www.SaveTheCleanAirAct.com, is sponsored by Friends of the Earth and CREDO Action.

Visitors to the site are asked to choose their favorite of three billboard designs. Each option takes Sen. Lincoln to task for her support of a polluter-backed resolution known as the "Dirty Air Act." That resolution seeks to overturn an expert finding that smokestack pollution endangers Americans' health and welfare. The resolution, authored by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) in partnership with polluter lobbyists, would eliminate important Clean Air Act safeguards against climate-warming pollution.

The ad with the most votes will be plastered across a 14 foot by 48 foot billboard in Little Rock that is seen by more than 50,000 Arkansans each day.

"Senator Lincoln has blatantly ignored Arkansans' health and welfare in doing corporate polluters' bidding and trying to roll back the Clean Air Act," said Friends of the Earth President Erich Pica. "This billboard will help hold her accountable."

"This proposal is a legislative attempt to rewrite the scientific conclusion that global warming is bad for our health," said CREDO president Michael Kieschnick. "Instead of siding with climate-deniers, Sen. Lincoln should get to work on helping her constituents by supporting legislation to create clean energy jobs."
