The President's Budget: Fiscal Year 2011: State-Level Numbers Focused on Healthcare, Energy and Education

WASHINGTON - February 9 - President Obama issued his Fiscal Year 2011 budget on February 1, 2010 – a 2585-page proposed blueprint for addressing the social agonies caused by record-high job loss, a continued sluggish economy and state deficits.

In response, National Priorities Project (NPP) has released its analysis of President Obama's Fiscal Year 2011 budget, complete with state-level numbers tracking federal aid to states in the areas of healthcare, energy, education and select block grant funding.

The NPP publication also features multi-year budget comparisons and an extensive notes and sources section detailing the President's policy goals, the assumptions made by the Obama Administration in crafting this budget and some of the underlying causes for shifts in federal spending.

“At its core, this budget is a statement of values, a set of choices. With the FY2011 budget, President Obama charts the future of our nation. This latest NPP publication tells the story behind the numbers in accessible – human – terms,” notes NPP Executive Director, Jo Comerford.
