More Than 2,000 LGBT Rights Advocates to Converge in Dallas, Texas, Feb. 3-7, to Strategize and Organize
WASHINGTON - January 26 - LGBT rights activists from every corner of the country will be in Dallas next week for the National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, where they will plan political strategy, activate and energize to advance LGBT equality
What: The National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change
More than 2,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights supporters will convene in Dallas, Texas, on Feb. 3-7 for the 22nd National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change. It is the country's largest annual gathering of LGBT rights advocates coming together to organize and strategize.
Who: Keynote speakers include National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Executive Director Rea Carey, a leading voice in the national LGBT rights movement, who will deliver the "State of the Movement" address to the full assembly on Friday, Feb. 5; Thomas Saenz, president and general counsel of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, who will speak about comprehensive immigration reform on Thursday, Feb. 4; and writer Kai Wright, who will moderate a plenary panel of LGBT youth of color called "Young Leaders Speak: Out, Loud, Proud," on Saturday, Feb. 6.
