COPENHAGEN - December 11 - Climate Justice Action and Climate Justice Now, two networks that have operated separately from outside and inside the COP 15 Climate Conference process, are joining with local Danish activists the Klimakollektivet and forming to merge what many are predicting to be the largest and loudest section of the climate change march this Saturday under the banner of ‘System Change Not Climate Change.’

Who:  Climate Justice Action and Climate Justice Now!, networks made up of COP-critical NGOs, social movements and climate activists

What:  A distinct section of thousands of people on the climate demonstration marching united under the banner of ‘System change not climate change’

Where:  Meeting at Parliament Square in Copenhagen and marching towards the Bella Centre

When:  1pm, Saturday 12 December

Why:  1) To create a visible political identity on the march of groups who critique the UN process as well as the current economic system that is driving fossil fuel consumption and climate change. 2) To provide a platform for those groups, especially those from the global south who are most impacted by climate change, and the groups that are most marginalised by the UN process.

Climate Justice Now and Climate Justice Action are networks that are operating inside and outside the UN climate talks that argue that the market-based false solutions being talked about will lead to ‘climate colonialism’ and that infinite economic growth is not possible in a world of finite resources.
